Mask is up to you. This one is not airborne, but needs moisture. Masks will stop those. Or just better safe than sorry. If you can get any masks now. As for the location, the streets of Flushing is enough. Plenty of Chineses and dense enough to qualify.

Oh cool it's that simple, all we need to do is get everyone to wash their hands, while we're at it, let's get everyone to eat their vegetables too.

By your own statements everyone is NOT washing their hands, so the virus WILL spread, everyone knows it will spread and there is no plan on what will be done AS IT SPREADS!

And by 'what will be done' I don't mean "find a cure" (although you know, do that). I mean how do we keep society functioning on both a macro but more importantly on a micro level until everything is back to normal.

I can do everything I can to make sure I don't get it, but what am I suppose to do if everyone in my office get's it. Even if I am fine, the office might shut down. Not everyone is paid a monthly salary some people are paid hourly and only hours that they actually work (no holidays, no sick leave) if the office is closed many people don't get paid, what's the plan to deal with that?

What if schools close? Are parents suppose to stay home with their children? Will they be compensated? Will their jobs be protected? Etc. Etc. Etc. What's the plan to deal with that?

If travel is already shutting down, that means it is likely more travel will either shut down or at least be delayed as it spreads, what does that mean for commerce? Especially food, if we see even a small delay in food arrivals it will be devastating. What's the plan to deal with that?

And there are a million other little things we take for granted but our society would cease to function as we know it if there is just a small temporary change and no plan on how to deal with it.

Again my concern is less about the actual virus, and more about how this will effect us socially and economically, the CDC does not have any answers on that because that's not their job.

If things start shutting down it will have a domino effect, and right now the answer is "Well we have no plan to make sure things don't shut down, and if they do shut down we have no plan on how to stop the domino effect, but hey spring is coming, we're sure everything will be fine."

Exactly...The domino effect can be devastating according to what you mentioned...even worse this domino effect can be worldwide...I have union that covers all my medical ...one guy in Florida was sick..all the symptoms..no medical coverage..went to the doctor...test negative..his bill is $3,900...imagine if he was positive and required hospital stay..and by the way he worked at a minimum pay job...so the ramifications are unquantifiable if this thing get to a pandemic

I wondered if she wore a mask before this quarantine or where she walked around the city.

She took a cab into Manhattan...so imagine that cab driver and if he is infected from her..he won't know until about 14 days..how many people will he possibly infect...we are on the cusp of a pandemic

FOX 5 obtained an email written by a representative from the exchange program explaining that while they are from the same province, the students come from a city nearly 200 miles away from Wuhan, China, where the coronavirus outbreak has prompted a lockdown.

I have to recognize the courage of mongers who are still out there. I am really on the fence with this activity during this period. There are a few mongers I desperately want to see but I'm using every atom of self control to hold back. Knowing now that these virus particles can remain in the air for a while and even talking to an infected person at a close distance puts you at risk, it's hard to put my self at ease about any intimate contact with a spa lady, much less those that exchange fluids (even saliva). Hell, I'm even cautious with a cashier at Duane Reade. This will however go on for many months so it's quite a predicament right? It may be a very long time before one feels that the coast is clear.

Enjoy now...we are not different from Italy..Korea..and look over there...every thing points to that we will have staggering numbers...most countrys are testing 10,000 daily...we have only tested 11,000 as of tonight...we have 1500 confirmed...and it's been here since late January Mathematically we are screwed
