Yes, home kits work just as well but it needs to be sent to CLIA certified lab. The test kit will come with it. May take longer though, that’s the only down side.

You can go get tested at walk in clinics or got to CVS that has a minute clinic.

I get tested monthly or every two months. Never caught anything.

If you have health insurance with Kaiser, you can do free STD testing (chlamydia, gono, treponema/syphilis, HIV) once per month/4ish week period. Can be requested in the app to avoid the awkward conversation. Online Care -> E-visit -> Sexual Health -> STD testing. Then you go into a testing lab at your convenience.

If you want the full panel or specific tests, you either have to ask your doctor or request for more information about PeP/PrEP.

Kaiser turnaround is pretty fast. Urine tests have come back in as quickly as 12-16 hours if I arrive at open, but usually take at least a day. Blood tests range from about 1-3 days.

I’ve also used at home instant tests from https://testkitlabs.com/. They work in a pinch but are urethral swab tests and incredibly uncomfortable so I don’t use mine unless I need peace of mind immediately. In most cases I can wait a month in-between tests.

Hobbying for almost 10 years now at AMP and AAMP. Getting tested every couple of months, all clean. Stay safe and be well

Fyi if you are positive you WILL go on a Government list. https://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment-guidelines/clinical-reporting.htm

Remember in this day and age "confidentiality" means EXCEPT the webhost and security company, Government contractor's, employees, anyone at a clinic or other medical provider who looks up your chart, hackers, and anyone they tell.

If you travel, it may be an option to get tested in, say, Mexico or the Carribean or other medical tourist destination.

This post is only to inform. Obviously, stay safe; just don't want you unaware.
