I had to take two Covid-19 tests during my two-week quarantine. One immediately when I arrived and another one the day before I can finally go home.
A nurse also came everyday to check my temperature. She noticed that I smoked and she told me that if she catches me smoking one more time, she’d send me back to New York. lol.

Now that my job won't require in office till next summer. I been debating to go to other country for few months.
How does the quarantine works? Do they put you at specific hotel or you can book it ahead? Are you free to roam in the hotel facilities, like gym or pool, or you stuck in your room for two weeks? Do you have to eat the horrible hotel food as well or you can order delivery?

Once you arrive, a bus will take you to a randomly-chosen three-star home (I stayed at the Ramada). You are stuck in your room for two weeks. A nurse will visit your room everyday to take your temperature. You have to eat the horrible food and they serve only juice and water. If you smoke, then you won’t be allowed to do so. First time caught is a warning and the second time caught is a 10 million won fine (around $9K). You cannot order food either.
Visitors are not allowed so you cannot have a hooker visit you either.
Back in April, it was paid for by the government. Now you have to pay for your two-week stay which is 1.4 million won (around $1,250). lol.

The hotel had WiFi.
In the morning, they serve you a bottle of water, sandwich and fruits. For lunch, they serve you a bottle of water, apple juice and another sandwich. For dinner, they serve you a bottle of water, a cup of ramyun and kimbab (rice rolled with vegetables and meat). So it was lame. lol.

My friend who I came with is allergic to pork but they didn’t care.
I called the Korean Consulate Office and they told me the only way one can be exempt from the two-week quarantine is if either a family member suddenly passes away or you have a medical emergency and need urgent care once you arrive.
