TMI ( too much information)

You are wrong about hearsay and search warrants. While inadmissible at trial, hearsay can be used as the basis for issuing a search warrant so long as the circumstances in their totality establish probable cause. Posts containing TMI can certainly be used to support issuance of a search warrant, especially when combined with other information that can be ascertained through ordinary investigation and which add up to establish probable cause.
... thanks... that’s what I thought but wasn’t clear on that point... I’m assuming that forum reviews would be off limits in an actual trial... yes?..

The reviews standing by themselves would be inadmissible hearsay. However, if LE were to identify the author and bring that person into court via subpoena as a witness, the information in the reviews could be elicited through the testimony of that witness. In that situation, the witness who wrote the review could also be questioned about the content of the review and its accuracy. The witness could also be asked to authenticate the review and it would then become admissible as a trial exhibit if prosecutors thought it useful in that regard.

“Unless the format changes to only allow basic info and a yes or no rec, LE can still use these site reviews as probable cause.”

Actually, NO they cannot. If it was that easy to establish probable cause on a review website, the LE could just as easily write reviews themselves stating whatever they want anonymously to get “probable cause”. Imagine if I could just write some made up crap anonymously about some cops in a precinct on the take on a internet blog and then turn internal affairs and DOJ corruption watchdogs loose on them. It doesn’t work that way legally. If the owner of the AMP has suggestive pics, pics showing procedures he is not licensed for, or lists services which are not covered under his license on his business website, then YES that is probable cause. Nuff said.

Actually, you are partially incorrect. See my prior posts in this thread. While sites reviews alone - with no other supporting evidence - may not be enough to establish probable cause for issuance of a search warrant, there is plenty of case law indicating that such reviews can be used as PART of a package of evidence presented to a judge to establish probable cause for a search warrant. I’ve encountered this often enough during my 25+ years practicing law to know it’s an accurate statement.

I do agree that it may be presented as a piece to the larger puzzle to help build a case to obtain a search warrant, but in itself, it is worthless.

This is all just speculative since we have no idea how his joint was taken down, but I agree all pieces of the puzzle add up..... and most importantly the site was clearly focused on near-nude women with their identities intentionally hidden (no face shots) which is a huge red flag. If these were legit masseuses why would they have to hide their face? I think sites who choose to advertise online should either not blur faces (because legit biz don't need to hide an identity) OR alternatively put them in tight clothes without being overly revealing of T&A. You can still tell how attractive they are.... and you could have more plausible deniability

the solution is to use the fake photos that most of the AMPS use!!! As soon as anyone sees those, they imagine little old ladies at the shop

As someone who has several retired leo friends they tend to look the other way unless there is a community complaint, or a rookie cop looking to gain some notoriety on the force , they have bigger crimes to deal with and shortage of help
when a complaint shows up then it’s time to investigate by searching the dark web for info that is where we unknowingly give them a few tips , after all we found the place and I’m not a trained observer / investigator .
I do tend to agree some reviews can be very graphic that would be better suited in a private message.
be safe everyone, “always watch your 6“

Hahaha... Personally I think the best thing to do (and none of them really do this) is would be use real pics, clothed, not overtly scandalous. This would let mongs know what kinda talent is there, without making it blatantly obvious it's not "just" a massage business. But 2nd best would be no sexy pics at all. Sexy pics definitely say "not legit" to me....

I hope nobody really thinks LE is using these boards to close down amps. LE doesn’t need this, it’s obvious which Amps are legit, and which ones aren’t. I’m most towns the police let it slide, because they have more important things to worry about. The only time LE gets involved is when there’s complaints from the community. And does anyone really think the community is getting their info from these boards? I highly doubt this.

Just my thoughts

read the whft thread on usasexguide...
That situation was unique, in that it involved at least one minor being pimped out. Once LE caught wind of that, they went all in on the investigation to make sure that the guy running it was forever fucked. They focused on the pimp and it seems like they only scared the customers into giving up all info that they had about said pimp and his operations.

If it didn't involved under-aged girl(s), LE never would have spent the money and time on it that they did.

Edit: And I believe that he also filmed the minor(s) having sex.

I think there are many motivating factors for LE to shut down a spa and what can bring the unwanted attention that results in shutdowns takes many forms as noted in all the previous comments.
But after a spa has been targeted in my area it seems most were shut down for building code violations or zoning violations, as it is an
easier route for LE to get the result they want, unless it is a DA , etc. that wants the publicity.

For those of you who complain about TMI, I personally have a bigger complaint. (NEI) Not Enough Information.

I have been scanning the parking lots and doors of the DE establishments for almost 5 years now. There are cars and monger going in and out of establishments regularly. If we do not get reviews that are current, define the spa, the provider and the service level A, B, C, D, F, then this site is almost useless. It is called a review site for a reason. We write reviews and others get to read them. As much as I like writing reviews, I have been slacking off with the reviews lately because I am just losing interest in the site. I get on it and I see nothing new in DE, SJ and Philly and it gets depressing. If you guys are reading this, please, please , please give me MORE INFORMATION. I need some help getting motivated again. The fact that I have to read New York Reviews and know some of those providers quite well really saddens me. I may actually have to visit Flushing to visit Zoey and GuoGuo!!!

Sincerely, HELP ME.

CB you know that using the PM feature works quite well too. Pick a few of the guys that visit the same spas and check in with them on occasion.
I throw out leads to trusted members all the time as you know. I do also like to read reviews to see who I might like to try. But I also chat with a few locals to see what they have been up to. BTW if I wrote a review for all my visits I may be running neck and neck with you. But then I wouldn't be able to work and support my hobby.

Another day, another no reviews. Damned is this depressing!!! ELH, many of the trusted Spahunter/Amp review contacts have dropped off of the site. Older Mongers are dropping of and the younger mongers are not stepping up to the plate.

I will keep my fingers crossed!!!!

It's a feeling of entitlement, Chuck. Don't hold your breath.
