.............my name is PABLO OSEGUERA member carte Jalisco New Generation and pimp of the domestic sexual service house I’ve been calling you cause you’ve been speaking to one of my girls which offered you her service and you only made her lose her time. If you don’t pay you and a couple of your family member will lose their life. Don’t try to block me or turn off the phone because I have your address and your family’s too. Call me to work something out in a good manner...............

Then he listed my address names of family members.
I am scared and don’t know what to do.

There are other threads here regarding these scams. Including guys who have reported it to police.
If it were me I would simply block him.
Or first before blocking maybe ask him if he knows of any good, authentic churrascao in the area...

Did you use an unlisted burner phone?
Or your personal phone?
If your personal phone, probably use a search service to get the owners name/address info.
If a burner phone with no owner, then.....

So yes I had two instances when I got this text message from “Pablo” This is a total scam they get your phone number from you replying to an add. Then the girl will ask for gift cards or Venmo a deposit. If your like me once they ask you this you know is it’s a complete scam and move on.
They you will receive a text saying you are harassing my sex workers and owe money to the cartel..
it’s prob a call center in India ..lol
They are just hoping you don’t use a burner phone and get real nervous they will come to your house and send them gift cards ..lol
They also will send a bunch of graphic pictures of Dead bodies
Make sure you use a burner people. $20 a month it’s worth it.

People that use sites such as BeenVarified, can get cell phones, emails and lots of personal information. Not to say someone isn’t out to do harm, but info is easy, and cheap to get. The police are the only people that can really track the location of the person that sent you the text. Civilians can’t access a cell phone location. I would call the number from a burner phone that has no trace, and see what happens.

They are looking for easy marks. Once they see your not sending the money they will move on to the next guy. Don’t bother reporting to police. These scammers are based outside the country and outside the nypd’s jurisdiction so its not like anybody is going to get arrest. If the link is still active it would hope posting it or some identifying info of the ad (name used on ad, number, etc) so that other can avoid it.

Sometimes they wait a day to send the text.
The best indicator I picked up on is the posts never have a real location it will say something general like Nj NY that’s a big area. its because they don’t care they just want the initial contact to First ask for a deposit then if that fails you get the text

It's a scam. Scammer placed ads one of which you answered he has your number. He runs background checks through a few different online info brokers and gets the info, and using 3 services he can match names and weed out erroneously listed associates. That's how he got the names. They work out of Central America. It's all bullshit scare tactics.

It’s technically not true that only police can track locations on phones. Anyone can do it if they want for relatively cheap these days. That’s why I’ve been telling you guys to be careful with your regular phone, if you have a suspicious wife. I’m not sure what value you’d get from it though. It’s not like you’re going to go after him. I’ve never had one of these, but I’d probably launch a reverse spam attack on the guy. Or do the James veitch approach on him, and try to send him money but be incompetent and waste his time.

chances are real high that he’s not using a burner and they just pulled public info. there’s a site where you can reverse search a phone and get name, addresses, relatives, etc.

I just want to add to this and echo to get a burner phone. Most VOIP services like pinger/textfree require you to use a real number to register. this same scam service using this Pablo alias was able to track down the real number somehow.

My phone is locked, texts from companions are archived or deleted. The key is not to come home with a big smile or smell like pussy, that's more of a wtf moment.

I don’t think I can hide and archive texts on iPhone. I usually keep pros in my notes but keep those of SBs.
I keep my phone locked. Need to occasionally change code because others, for other reason learn them over time.
