How do you mongers get periodic testing?

With an SO (and in a happy but nearly sexless situation) I don’t want some preemptive test to blow everything up.
For obvious reason I don’t want this to hit my insurance or if possible use my real name.

Thinking of testing in Allentown area and found some confidential testing through google link to stdtest.com. This seems to be a referral site that sets up your test and firewalls your info, but it seems to want payment through cc and asks for name.
This seems a little better than going to a clinic or regular gp, but not ideal.

What do you fellows dowhen you’re trying to be a bit more responsible in all your mongering?

I get it done every year at my yearly check up. It's obviously confidential and most insurance will not charge you for a yearly check up.

Urgent cares can also do it and if you don't want to use your insurance, you can pay in cash. It should be less than 200 bucks.

I don't get everyone's reluctance to talk to their doctor. I would just send my doctor a message asking him to order STD testing. He usually does things same day/next day when I make a request.

So it's not logged into my online patient portal, which my SO has access to. Every communication with my doctor is logged there. Whether I put it there or not. I also learned not to share certain information because it gets entered into my doctor's notes. A fewvyears ago I applied for increased life insurance. I had to grant the company access to my medical files. They picked up on a note from my new doctor where I mentioned a particular condition I had 20 years ago. The life insurance company grilled me on it. I know this goes well beyond your question but I thought I'd share my experiences with big brother.

Most county health departments offer FREE STD/HIV testing. You do not need to be a resident of the county. However some may not be available because of covid. My local has suspended it's free clinic so I used a neighboring county and they did not ask/care if I lived in the county. Totally confidential. They want people to get tested, especially if you are engaging in risky sexual behavior. No judgement whatsoever. They do NOT test for HSV or HPV during a routine STD panel.

This is what I do. My insurance covers any labs done in network so I call my pcp up, get a script for a test, and go to the lab. Very easy and basically free.

It seemed like PP is vigilant about real id, and is likely to turn over info to county health office for contact tracing. I’d tell my SO if there was a problem, but not sure I want to have some rando county official calling months later

I order through callondoc.com which sends you to labcorp. I use my info. I don't recall if there's a way to get around that but it does not worry me. Keeps it off of the health insurance paperwork.

You can order an Everlywell STD at home testing kit. They offer different ones. Some local CVS stores carry the Chlamydia/Gonorrhea test by Everlywell. Runs about 70 bucks.

Your insurance company will mail you documentation with hard to explain information.

Years ago my doc said that the digital records are going to stick to you forever. If a test is ordered, regardless of positive or negative results, your SO may see them decades later if you become incapacitated etc and they have medical access. If I decide to quit this business, I’d probably do a final screening. The irony of potentially gettting nailed from being even minimally responsible after closing shop is too much. I’d like to minimize risks even in the long term. If that means going out if state and staying off insurance lists or county officials, well ok.

In the ABE area, you might try NovusACS (https://novusacs.com/). Very discreet. They focus on HIV, but do a full battery of tests.
There is a pay scale, based upon ability. It's a non-profit org.
They can be difficult to get results from in writing, but that is due to their strict "no tell" policy.

STD.com has been my go to, Although they are a little pricey. They use Quest labs here in NY. They will email you the results and or you can go on the quest dashboard set up an account and view them yourself. You can then clear your dashboard. However I’m sure they remain in the database forever
