I do not know if it is still around, but it had a good system for verification.

Several providers I knew who were very security conscious relied on it and liked it.

Date-Check was run by a provider who was busted a couple years ago. She was New England based. Then that site plus her and a couple other ladies were arrested as well..

I did not know. I remember a few years ago two women who were basically housewives working from home got busted in Massachusetts for running an agency. It was probably the biggest agency in New England. They really dropped the hammer on them, so I wonder if these two also ran Date-Check.

A disgruntled agency girl dimed them out to LE.

I thought the Date-Check was pretty good. It protected the provider and made things a lot easier for the hobbyist. You had an ID number, pre-verified. Once the provider could confirm it, which was simple and quick, all that was needed was to make the appointment. I really don't know if any site or system replaced Date-Check.

I am not too familiar with Preferred411. I should look into it. Setting aside this plague we are experiencing, I have found with my move south that any references I had are practically useless now. Some providers I even could possibly get a reference from have decided to retire, either due to new Federal laws that changed things or due to this Plague. The best way for me will be some type of verification service. It might make for a good discussion here.

I had heard that P411 wasn't accepting new members. Maybe that changed. My FL ATF retired, the other 2 ATF's I have are in LV and both would verify me as we've known each other 10 + years even though I haven't seen them in a couple years. We stay in touch, so that helps.

I would like to try to find the best site for screening purposes. If I don’t croak off by the time I get vaccinated, I do feel that I need to find a good site for screening purposes given I live in a state where I have not as yet hobbied.
