So I'm bored and I am diversifying my portfolio with hobby/NCAA tournament/Horse Racing money that I usually spent during this time of year. My bank allows 100 free trades a year so I'm going with it. Money that is not working for me at this time. That shit is going into the market to lay a foundation. I did all right with the 2009 crisis so I'm rolling the dice again. What i threw at a few sessions today:

1) Viacom: Their streaming app is supposed to launch this summer with Nickelodeon, BET, MTV, Comedy Central, and the Paramount movie library. Also has those the seasons of CSI and dumb sitcoms that most enjoy. Currently selling at 12-13 dollars.

2) American Airlines. Currently under 10 dollars but was close to 60 a share back in late in 2019. Long term play. Will also be adding United stock in the next few weeks. Currently 22-23. Was regularly stable at 100.

3) Kroger-One of the cheapest supermarkets to play at 30 bucks compared to other superstores,

4) Chinese markets: Went with electric car manufacturer NIO at 2-3 dollars a share.

5) JK Coffee-supposed to be China's Starbucks. 2-3 dollars a share. They lied about profits but that COO was fired before the Virus. They keep expanding and the correct financials that were released appears that they are in good shape to thrive.

6) PLUG-specialize in hydrogen cell batteries for construction equipment like fork lifts and others. Currently has small contracts with Amazon and Wal Mart. Shares for 3.50 to 3.75. Long term play. Amazon and Wal Mart are giving them a test run at select sites right now.

Just what I'm doing. Not putting my retirement into these. Just seem like a good deal.

That was a good call. Looks like I missed that dip. Telecommuting stocks have been rising the past couple weeks. Not sure how that might change by July.

JK = Luckin? I never heard of JK, maybe its the holding company. Luckin is the big Chinese coffee place. Its OK. Coffee is better than Starbucks. Shops are a lot less standardized. I can go in any Starbucks and expect the same menu / basic store layout. Not so with Luckin. I dont know if good or bad, but as a foreigner with poor chinese skills it gets a little annoying sometimes.

LK - a lot of my Chinese friends bought LK the other day during the big sell off. They woke up early to tell me about it. Lol.

JK is the Luckin exchange name. They published an article that the COO did more than cook the books. Small investment so I switched it to CATS since it only cost some pennies to back out of it.

I invested heavily on BAC and C . Bank stocks are very cheap relative to liquidity value. Plus these are financial companies that no matter what will receive bailouts (as sad as that is) because they are considered essential to economic well being.

Also have Call options on SPY at 280 and 300. Should have bought more when everyone was being bearish at the cheap.

I also considered puts on my company but pretty sure that's illegal since I am privy to internal financial information and would be considered insider trading.

Yeah you don't want to lose your job because of this board, and i don't want my dumbass username being headlined in the news of my arrest with my real name followed by "AKA rAMPage initiated a thread that involved massive amounts of insider trading." lol.

I do have some bank holdings. Will definitely look into SPY. I have liked what I have read so far.

Exactly lol
I had done investments through index funds since I started my career three years ago. However something about actually trading is more appealing. Problem is you can have as much in depth research and do what makes sense but then the stock market fucks you in the ass.

I mainly make options calls because I truly believe in the American economy.

Just don't be our hero here.

No medical stocks?

Just a couple of quick comments. I like Viacom/CBS. Very cheap stock with valuable assets. I think AAL certainly has upside but I'm worried equity investors may be diluted by the government aid as they may demand a chunk of equity. UAL has a better balance sheet and may be a safer play. No opinion on the other stuff. Good luck!

Yeah this is more of a boredom thing. Definitely didn't throw everything into these. Just what I would have normally bet on the NCAA and other closed things. Monday just seemed like a good day to to see what happens. Actually dropped Kroger early Tuesday and put in Canopy Growers weed stock. This is definitely more of a "Hey maybe I'll get some extra dough down the line" type of thing. Definitely not a pro with tons of research to back me up. Just a "Hey that's pretty cheap right now for a eventual rebound." Start small and play it out from there. If i got free trades and extra scratch, might as well use them now and see what happens.

How about bets on the NFL draft? I've been doing some of that. Not like betting on real games but it's something.

There are some horse tracks still running, but, other than that, it's brutal. I just checked over at Fanduel and here is what you can bet on besides the Draft: Russian table tennis, Belarussian soccer, Taiwanese baseball and darts. Yikes.

That stuff is for true degenerates. Not that denizens of this board would be beyond that. :)

I did think about betting on the Cornhole Tournament that was on ESPN most of last month. I stayed away. This makes me think of who the hell are these oddsmakers for such random sports? There is a damn oddsmaker for Cornhole tournaments and Taiwan darts! It's their time to shine! I hope they are enjoying the spotlight.
