The production company needs to get their money's worth so the ladies often shoot for 3+ scenes in a single day along with promotional stills. This is why escorting became so popular in the last ten years porn was paying garbage money compared to what it did 15-20 years ago. Today, talent under contract makes crap money, its only slightly better than girls without a contract. This is why so many IG/Snap models go straight to escorting. There is no reason for then to bother with porn since they can already command +1k for an hour with little effort.

You're both right. Someone mentioned making a one person studio. That's exactly how some guys go about things. The only negative is having to register and be tested regularly to maintain credibility. Also ladies catch on so some agents are told to ask about what the set situation will be like; whos directing, acting producing etc. Its so cheap to shoot your own porn that the ladies realize randos have caught on.
