It is true that she said she was Korean. She may have needed a history lecture to explain all about her background, so I think that's why she just kept saying she was Korean. There are about a million second- to fifth-generation Koreans in the former Soviet Union and current Russia.
Many of them live there for generations and have gotten more exotic appearances than typical Koreans.She is also one of them. She speaks both Korean and Russian. I tried some Russian words and she corrected my broken Russian pronunciation.
