Title: Review: Mamasan at BSS
Date: Nov 19, 2018
Phone:
City: Allentown
State: Pa
Address: Lehigh St
Activities: None
Summary: Guess I waited too long and missed the boat. Finally had some free time and decided to take the plunge at BSS. Since it was short notice I didn't call and tried a walk in appt. Older lady I assume was mama greeted me and asked if I had appt. I said no but asked if she had anyone avail. She said no one was avail and that I should have called first. I then asked when someone would be avail and that I could return later. She then became slightly beligerant and very rude saying I should have called first and that she didn't know when anyone would be free. After the last few postings about this place I just took it as a sign and said goodbye and walked away. Never have I had this experience before and if i'm not alone, BSS will be OOS soon.

Recommendation: No

So you tried seeing a girl at one of the top two spas in the LV without a call and couldn't get in. You would not even have a conversation at the other one. There has been recently unrespectful vistiors at BBS. The number is to vet you to make sure you are not one of the problem vistiors. Every spa does this. Don't remember showing up without calling any place. Just setting yourself up for failure.

Bico, I can understand your defense of BSS and I concur that the protocol is pretty much the same at these AMPs, however, I have been a respectful and valued customer of BSS since it has been around and the new Mamasan recently treated me like I was a criminal. When I arrived I had mentioned that I am a regular and the providers I have seen and how long they have been there, etc, etc, just to put Mamasan at ease that I was "ok" and she treated me with nothing but disrespect. I certainly understand that Mamasan needs to be cautious and careful of everyone but I'm telling you that anyone would have been upset with BSS and would never return. I will never return. Tread carefully, see for yourself. I hope you have a better experience and hope that maybe BSS has just been having a few bad days but I really doubt it as long as this Mamasan is around.

I understand your point about calling and I normally do prior to showing up. However I was right around the corner from this place when my schedule opened up and it was just as easy to ring the bell as it was to call. Also didn't think it would be a big issue since others have posted about walking in before.
My main point wasn't so much about being turned away, it was the way the mama treated and talked to me. I understand places get busy and that it usually helps to call ahead, but her attitude was uncalled for.

With some of the recent LE problems in the burbs. all spas are on high alert.. Apparently this MMS is new, she does not know everyone yet.

Me, even if I was just around the corner I would call first to see if anyone was free for a last minute visit. This isn't McDonald's.

I do think the other spa in this area uses some kind of caller ID. It seems as when you call they know if you have been there before. We all know there are cameras at spas. They might as well try facial recognition or biometrics to see if you are a repeat customer.

I agree. One place that I call, the response is"Hi, we haven't seen you for a while." It proves your point about caller ID.

You guys are absolutely full of shit. I walk into spas all the time without calling. If they are busy, they politely tell me they are busy and I tell them I will stop back at a slower time. They smile and say we look forward to seeing you.

I had more than a few REALLY good Mamas, give me a table shower until one of the providers freed up.

The good ones treat the providers and customers with the utmost respect.

I know Chun you have to call before. BSS definitely saves numbers. Hand Healing saves numbers.

That sucks you were turned away, but next time just call before. See if things are different.

I believe they are all being extremely careful, especially in the burbs.

Folks, it is always better to call. And, it is sign of respect as well. Not from Allentown. I know and love Chun, what other spa's to you all classify as the top tier? BS sounds like it has a lot of negatives . . .

Spas that have their shit together save names & numbers. I've had more than a few spas call me by my [fake] name when I phone. I use a fake number too. It is the smart thing to do (which you realize when they try to call you back). Recommend Google Voice to get a free, fake phone number for calling and texting.

The older Momma at BS called me one day, asking if I was coming in today. I guess they were slow and she was drumming up business. I didn't know who it was at first, so I said what? Who is this? She says, you coming to fix the AC? . Oh, wrong number. So she had a story made up about an AC service call. The call came from BS. So yes, they save your number, and may even use it.

Some may even sell your number to a database like they do on CityXGuide.

I actually saw inside the control room of one of everyone’s favorite spa. There was a giant screen with name, phone number, who you were seeing, and who you saw last time. They also all seem to know how much you tipped last time, although I suspect those are underreported.

VJ is right. You should have a Google Voice number.

I learned about Google Voice from VJ as well. Not a tech savvy here. I understand individual preference. Which one is better? Burner phone or Google Voice? Google Voice on iPhone and I use GV nbr when making calls?

That is odd, She was talking to me about their thermostat after I told her what I do for a living a few weeks back.

Google is traceable- try hushed app or one like it -non traceable
Maybe I'm naïve, but I have no idea how a spa or spa-girl could track my GV number back to me. My GV number is associated with a GMail account that I specifically use for mongering activities (so a fake number leading to a fake ID). Plus, I don't post it on websites. I just give use it to call spas or text providers. So far, its been very safe (& free). But to each his own. A short primer on GV traceability is below:

https://www.techwalla.com/articles/are-google-voice-numbers-traceable

Of course, I am sure LE could trace it if the got motivated. I don't think anything is safe from them, however.
