Closing and deletion of threads are not based on "moods". There is a judgement call if anything of value is being given to the readers. I when I say "value", I don't mean the explicit public comments. It's not difficult to keep it clean. And fresh content needs to be on the front page. Reviews run their course and then it needs locked. Sometimes it turns into such a dumpster fire it needs to be deleted from the public view. If you are that passionate about the discussion you can start a topic in the Discussion forums. Just a reminder, if it a dumbass topic it will be removed.
