I question why mongers sometimes only give $40 for tip on top of $60 hf. What’s the big deal stepping up with another $20? It will only come back to you in spades on future visits. Just sayin…
Fair question. So I’ll entertain your inquisitive mind since you seem sincere in your questioning.
I can’t speak for anyone except for myself, of course. Another $20 out of my pocket is not a big deal. I agree. But, why stop there? Why not another $30, $40 or more? Where does it end? It depends on the service provided IMHO.
Not sure how long you’ve been mongering but, $40 is the basic tip for basic service. That may have to be adjusted for inflation, etc. However, the way I see it, I tip at least $20 for a legit massage so therefore, the extra accommodation is really only costing me an extra $20. I’m happy and she’s happy. However, if I start tipping $60 for basic service, then the providers come to expect that as their baseline tip for basic service. That gives them little to no incentive to up their game or to become more accommodating. They may come to expect it. And not to mention, they may begin to expect it from every monger for that same basic service. So, in that respect, I am now raising the price not only for myself the next time I monger (especially with that same provider) but for every monger after that. It can add up very quickly. It’s a collaborative effort. This hobby that we enjoy.
I mongered today for an hour/$60 session but tipped a C-note. Why? She went above and beyond her normal efforts in the session. And a little extra for her because it’s the holidays.
You may take a different approach by tipping more for basic service with hopes that it will come back to you next time you see that provider. And hopefully it will. However, I choose to develop a good rapport with the provider and allow the monger/provider relationship to grow organically and reward her with more cabbage as the relationship develops.
Anyhow, just Assman’s 2 cents. Assman has said enough.
He’ll get off his soapbox for now.
