Good review, hear you..I have had similar experience with indies and agencies as well. I do the same, just dress up and walkout to give them a mesaage of disappointment and no returns. A word of mouth sand forums like this will teach them what service ( to give and not just take) means.

I hear you there too. Going to the places that I know and trust, or can tell it's good by reading and researching, I can get overconfident and then I run into an experience that reminds me it's not a sure thing. It's eye-opening but not in a good way. I usually stick to places I know are gonna be a sure thing but earlier this week I tried a new spa that had just opened in Manhattan (so new that when i googled the number on the sign there were no ads, no reviews, nothing).....the experience was so similar to what you described here. She had her act. She took the money and also the tips. Acts surprised and uncomfortable that I expect good service in return, does the minimum with my help, and then when I'm getting dressed she's adorable again

Some of these providers don't seem to care much, thats the reason they take the service charge and tips before even providing service. smh
