It seemed like there was an AMP crackdown in progress pre-Covid.

On the UES, three fairly well established places got orange papers in their windows in pretty quick succession: an FS-ish spot on 73rd between 1st and 2nd, an HE+-ish place on 61st at 1st, and an FS place on 59th between 1st and 2nd.

59th spot was very indiscreet. High traffic area, locked door + exterior cam, door sometimes answered wearing lingerie, traffic cop literally across the street directing traffic M-F.
.
common denominator is probably nimbys aka residential neighborhood complaining. I personally know one of the owners who use to have a spa with very limited menu around 60s and 2nd Ave.....police knocked on the door almost monthly.

Today I found out that Pro Spa is open. Over the last few weeks I have stopped and watched through the old Pro Spa windows work being done on the interior. I was not sure who was doing the work and what the final result would be. Today I decided to take the chance and knock on the door. I walked up the flight of stairs, saw a button to push to gain access, pushed it and waited for the answer. An attractive woman opened the door. I asked her the name of this new spa and she said Pro. The Pro Spa? She affirmed it. The Pro Spa.

Whoa, big news. I guess the follow up question on many of our minds might be, is Lisa back or coming back?

city govts are stupid. they open everything, shit happens, they then have to close everything, and nothing has been learned.

of course, they can't declare "all amps are now open" and then wait...lol. but if they open salons et al and suddenly only men get covid, well then ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I thought the place on 73rd was more discreet in terms of location, behavior, etc. After the bust I looked them up on the internet and their public website was very explicit about being a brothel, so not a surprise to see them busted. I'm not an FS guy personally but I had some great sessions there where it damn near happened organically. The girls were usually good looking and I was bummed to see them go.

Place on 61st getting busted is harder to explain without LE crackdown though. It was a low traffic spot, just a random door under a stoop with a "Massage" sign in front, never offered more than HE w/ roaming. I don't see how they got busted unless LE were going MP to MP to see if extras were offered.

Drifter I liked your Jul 26, 2020 report which I found to be very interesting. While looking into the confusing situation of one of my favorite spas (Pro) I was also visiting another spa that I once tried and liked and I think that you are talking about.

About a year ago I visited a spa on 62nd St at 1st Avenue and had a very good experience. (this may be the same 61st and 1st one that you were referring to) The spa's name was Sunny Relaxing Spa. A few weeks ago I was in the area and went looking to see how this spa was doing. I was surprised to see it closed and that on their second door there were two pages of LE content. This spa has double door security with the first door being a black wrought iron see through door to the second door. And it was on the second door that I could read a little bit of the LE two pages. (Someone had tried to scrape off the two pages but could not finish the job.).

Yours is the first description that I have seen about this spa and it took me by surprise when I read it. But, I still have no idea as to when the spa closed nor do I know if it will ever reopen. When in this area I do check to see if there has been any movement to open it or rent it out. One day I saw a man looking into the doors and watched him as he walked away. He looked very much a local resident and he looked very disappointed to find the spa still closed.

62nd and 1st, it was. Jan or Feb 2020? Tucked away, many doors, many cameras, questions phrased in the form of a raised eyebrow and a glance, all for nothing.
