Granted it's a sensational story about a bonafide headache. At the same time zillions of automobiles who operate and park in Philadelphia every day without any such occurrences. PPA is overzealous and their staff are rewarded for meeting minimums. Bottom line is they're hated for being so efficient at their job. If they were lax there'd never be an open parking spot because people would just leave their cars for days.
Philly is one of the better large metropolitan centers in America. It's problems are common to all major cities, but their severity is less than others. Construction, housing and general economy was robust pre-pandemic. Likewise the arts, culture and restaurant community was sky-rocketing. Great AMPS, reasonable distance to the ocean, quick trips to DC and NY. Hard to beat for the price of a small % of parking troubles IMO.
