Pink vacation - some information

Some interesting information:

Several times in the last year, I have had a cancellation of a scheduled appointment due to a "pink vacation". The PO has always been most helpful in rescheduling another girl for the same time. As you know, women on the pill do not have menstruation periods, so I was surprised to discover that they were not all on the pill. I am assuming the ones that do BBFS must be on the pill, but I do not visit them. So I asked Tera who always puts on a condom for me if she has a "pink vacation" and she replied yes. I asked if she was concerned about getting pregnant, and she replied that the condoms were safe. She alternates months, taking the pill for a while and then going natural without the pill for a while. It was better for her health.

Do a quick Google search before exposing such ignorance on high-school level sexual health questions. Most women on most commonly taken pills still get their period normally. Occasionally, some women (depending on the pill) might even bleed more heavily.

It's possible to prevent periods via certain pill schedules but nowhere near common.

I'm guessing some of the women use alternative methods of birth control, such as IUDs or implants, or probably for some who are a little older or already have kids, tubal ligation.

The standard birth control pill regimen has a week of sugar pills so the woman has her period. But there is a pill regimen that has woman skip their period for several months as a time then have a period.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the suggestion to check out the internet. I was only familiar with the pills that inhibit menstruation. There are other combinations that have 21 days on and 7 days off, which allows for periods. Plus a bunch of other methods. It has been many years since I worried about such details. But it is still frustrating when they have to cancel an appointment due to pink vacation. I am still concerned about BBFS. Not for me !!
