Negotiation advice

As some of you may know I travel to San Jose fairly regularly and visit the AMPs there. My job has asked me to cut back travel so I probably won't get to go back till June. So I decided to try some of my local Utah AMPs to scratch the itch...

Both experiences have been sub par. The ladies though not ugly don't compare to the selection in San Jose. They also expect $120+ for HJ and little to no touch allowed. The last place offered CBJ for $200 which is ridiculous. Every attempt I make at negotiation is simply rejected.

My guess is the local clients don't understand how much they are overpaying and prices just keep climbing.

So I am looking for suggestions regarding negotiations for both cost and services and how to find amp gems in a place where they don't seem to exist....

Any advice would be appreciated...I can't wait to go back to San Jose though.

Unfortunately there’s not a lot you can do as an individual to deflate prices in your area. The providers are gonna charge as much as they can get and, if the local clientele is willing to overpay, that’s the price they’re going to expect. Your single datum of refusing service isn’t going to effect much, so you’re best option is probably to either find some other city where the economy isn’t so inflated, or keep hunting around for providers until you find one that’s more flexible on price and stick with her plan to try and get a repeat-customer discount.

As an afterthought: you should also make sure you’re doing your fair effort in negotiating, as maybe it’s possible you ran into an unlucky sample of providers who are just price gougers by nature. It’s not enough to suggest X price and give up when met with “no”. You should persist a little and then, if no adjustments are made, be ready with a “too much for me, you can just finish the massage then”.

I have never had luck negotiating with providers in San Jose, but I've had luck with providers in the Santa Cruz, Morgan hill, Tracy areas.

If you have access to a car in your next visit, I'd suggest visiting those areas. They get less clients so they are more open to negotiate.
