My suggestion is that you should not go. Lol.
Saylorsburg is very nice. That whole area is rural but right in the middle of everything. Half hour to LV, 20 minutes from Stroudsburg, 40 minutes from WB. Three casinos, skiing, outdoor sports, etc. Hobby should be half hour or so away from home.

Nice. The question is the quality of service. If you find something good PM me.

I am nearing that retirement age and was wondering where I can retire comfortable. I am currently eyeing up Flushing NY which lines up with my interests perfectly!

Will do but keep in mind that anything of value will not be within 1/2 hour of Saylorsburg area. Best found are in LV.

Think Airport Road area...

The poconos and north are a god forsaken area. Notice that when you hit 380 going north, vegitation and weather is somewhat normal. As you travel along 380 some strange environmental shit is going on, the trees are stunted, a bermuda triangle effect on nature is occurring, and the weather is completely different, until you hit 84, then it returns to normal for NEPA. Normal is dismal. And every weekend, the pocono's are flooded with people fleeing the city for the weekend. They bring all of their stressed out behaviors with them, traffic is a mess, in my mind it is a shit show of the highest order. During hunting season, if you have property, don't be surprised to see some guy with out of state plates parked along the road, running through your yard with his gun, after he put his beer down on the hood of his car.

The positive side is they have both kinds of wine, red and white. Rosé is available for extra, after all, it takes time and talent to blend it the other two to just the right color.

You have Mount Airy lodge, nice place. Gambling, great food, Lots of golf. Blue Mountain skiing, largest vertical drop for skiing in PA. Lots of state parks. Kalahari, largest indoor water park. Yeah, you get busloads from the Bronx, shopping at the Crossings. Lots of New Yorkers at Shawnee. But its a big place. Driving back to Jersey on a Sunday night, very slow.
