What are the major differences between them? moderna and pfizer is new technology while J&J uses the same method as the traditional flu vaccine?
moderna is the most effective, pfizer is number two but j&j's method has been around for a long time and has the standard side effects and potential long term side effects while moderna and pfizer is unknown for long term effect since it is new?

I believe J&J is one dose, which is certainly more convenient. However, given the logistical challenges of even getting vaccinated right now, I think most people feel that the best vaccine to get is the one that is available to you. I know people who have received the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and people in both camps have experienced some limited flu-like symptoms for a day or two after the second dose.

I received both doses of Moderna. 1st shot no issues, not even the arm hurting. 2nd shot woke up next day feeling like I was hungover for about 6-8 hours then it passed I went out to dinner that night.

This is a tough call between the three. I have tried to research each one, but it is not easy. Some of the information I have seen about each one is sometimes in conflict. I think at this point in time, the best thing to do is get vaccinated with whatever is available to you.
Currently I think that’s all we can do. But it looks like in the near future we might be able to choose.

You just need to search nys covid vaccine and nyc covid vaccine. You will see who’s available and which one will be there. I got my appointment for this week and I booked it a few days ago.

I’ve gotten both shots of the Pfizer. Just a sore arm and a bit achy after the first and less so after the 2nd shot. It’s been about 2 months since the 2nd shot. No regrets except for when I look at Qanon Instagram accounts lol No I’m not a Q-tard, just like to look at different opinions and stuff. I’m not a libtard either. Haha

J&J is only 1 shot but I’ve heard it’s also less effective (66.3% efficacy). Whereas Pfizer & Moderna are in the mid to upper 90% efficacy.

My question is, how confident do you feel going out “mongering” or “hunting” being vaccinated (or not)? I wonder how many active members of this site (active on the board and in hunting) have gotten Covid or are willing to talk about it? No need for specifics on how you got it or from whom you think you got it from... just if you’ve gotten covid and do you feel it was related to your “extracurricular” activities?

From a healthcare/science perspective there is no data currently you can point to say which product is better in terms of protection. You really need a study that compares them head to head. Pfizer/moderna might have better numbers now but they were studied in different countries and different stages of the pandemic. Who knows, maybe if JnJ shot wasnt run in Brazil while covid was raging, maybe it might have closer numbers to pfizer or moderna. Bottom line is that all shots basically prevents serious illness and death.
As for longterm side effects, what is everyone worried about?

You get what you can get. Supposedly Moderna has less side effects compared to Pfizer. But you have to know that effectiveness does not mean probability of immunity. The thing you should do is after you are vaccinated go get the antibody test to see if you body is producing the antibody. That will tell you if your body should be able to fight the virus.

Not many wife's search the web for monger, AMP, BBBJ or any number of other acronyms we typically use. They do search the Web for all CV news. Would really suck having more attention to this site than we really need. I imagine that is why the CV thread has disappeared.

I just read this morning that a single dose of Pfizer or Moderna is 80% effective but it goes to 90% plus after the second dose. I agree, if you can get any one of the three it is good.

So far, I have 1 shot of Pfizer vax. Arm has a knot in it for several days running. Next shot in a few weeks. Pfizer and Moderna are over 90%, J&J is closer to 70-75% in the USA.

During the midst of the pandemic, I never stopped mongering, just reduced the rate. I was also fortunate to usher a few providers into their first day back to work. By this, I mean I picked them up in Flushing and drove them to their respective spas. Of course, I took a sample the night before the grand re-opening.

Since the beginning of the year, I have stopped paying. Not because of the risk, but because I have other priorities. In January I contracted C19, and was on my ass for a week, and in Q for 3 more. One of my family members who I came into contact was the possible source. She died. Fortunately, no one in my household or any other contacts (including sexual partners within a week of my diagnosis) became infected. I have a pharma background, and several friends who are biostatisticians. With proper ventilation, protection and isolation, the spread of C19 can be slowed. Now I avoid spas. The recent ATL shootings have heightened my concerns, and my concealed carry permit has lapsed.

It was a much greater concern that my infection would pass to one of my last providers. She was contact-traced and was not infected. In closing, I HIGHLY recommend that you continue to practice protective behaviors, including masking and distancing wherever possible. Get vaccinated. This disease is as random as it is devastating. For some it is nothing, for others it is an annoyance, but it can also be critical, and deadly, not just for the old and infirm.

Stay safe, gentlemen!
