I recently got this message the day after messaging an add from erotic monkey. To be honest I was so hammered I can't remember texting the number. Has anyone else received a similar message?
It's not like I'm afraid they're kicking in my door but seems like a strange message.

Although it looks legit.... I personally think LE would wait for you to set up a meet than sting you when you show up.... NYC has a prostitution team already in play.... why warn you.... probably somebody trying to detour or discourage us from going on the site.... like i said... this is Just My Opinion

nah they're a thing. This might be from someone trying to discourage use of the site, sure, but when they already do this I think its safe to say its LE being jerks

Nothing explicit, just asked what the availability was. It was a Latin provider.. I think. I deleted the message I sent and the next day got that wacky text from a different number. Dam pigs, I just wanna get my end away

weird, kinda jerk move to text if nothing bad was said. Might be automated or something.
I get nervous whenever a provider tries to get me into a cheap motel/hotel, which I associate too much with prostitution stings thanks to news and tv shows. I like my amps explicit and whore houses seedy.

too much trouble and wasted manpower. text the dude and scare the shit out of him, then sit back and laugh - job done.

Keeping it in perspective: Seven years is max and usually not given to first time offenders. That MTA guy who solicited an UC PO on Roosevelt last week got a DAT. Mostly likely will result in a fine and/or Community Service.
All the more reason for caution. Unfortunately amps are the lowest hanging fruit for LE to target as it's super easy for a UA to walk in, scope the place, see what it's about, and set the stage for a raid. If you're caught in a raid, its unclear if you'll be treated fairly even if nothing can be proved (just look at the Kraft case). It's starting to become like Russian roulette out there, unfortunately

Everyone has to decide how much risk they are willing to take. Doing something illegal, even if facing minimum punishment, still results in an arrest record when caught, and a criminal record when convicted. Not counting all the other penalties, like social stigmas and potential lose of employment (and pension if close to retirement).
