I know a manager there She says it has been really quiet past 2 weekends and thinks it is the stock market. Hard to believe that Pottery Barn is the only business getting affected by lower tech stocks.

I've never heard of that org. How tough is the screening and what's the damage?
Guess I need to spell it out as people fail to draw the inference. What % of K -customers are tech ? I would think more than 50%. Is it getting quieter in K-land? Tech employees borrowed on the margin against their company's stock to buy other tech stocks. They thought stocks would go up forever. Prices of candles at pottery barn went from $19.99 to $39.99 in 2 years. Prices in k-land went from 220 to 280 is in a year. Not a single candle sold in this pottery barn for over a week. This is the first time millenials are seeing a stock price decline like this. What % of k customers are millenials.

The demand supply balance was out of whack in almost every business and K-land is no exception. It is correcting rapidly as demand falls off because of inflation and more supply comes on line. Companies depending on the consumer are in real pain. Is k-land immune ? and for how long?

Sucks to be you. Diversifying your portfolio is crucial. I'm down a little under 20% but continue to make weekly visits to my favorite lady. Not a lot of faith in those running things being able to get is out of the hole they've put us in.

PD may soon see in increase in supply as rent and food squeeze wages, or when layoffs inevitably begin. K-orgs could see an increase in supply also from increase post(?)-covid, and also recession in k-land. This will tip the supply/demand balance in favor of lower rates.

Oh boy, another 'we've gotta get prices lower' thread.

Not a fucking chance. Never going to happen, put it out of your mind.

For the service you're getting from women that wouldn't look at you twice at a bar we're getting a hell of a deal.

Pay the extra 40 bucks. Most of us spend more than that on horrible coffee at Starbucks in a week. Pussy is better.

I’m seeing quite a few PD girls coming out of “retirement”. My PD local searches used to return 160 or so hits a year ago, now over 300.

That aside, and agree
But also understand that the 13 year bull market came to a screeching pause

That's irrelevant. People always find money for what's important, and the Bay Area isn't going into rustbelt recession. Manufacturing is booming, employers can't find enough engineers. The K girl economy is fueled by horny single transplants, and that shit isn't slowing down. It might, but not yet. and when it does they'll still have more money than they know what to do with.

older mongers with investments and bills might stop going as often, but the 30 year old horny single guy isn't going to care. The orgs might have to loosen the screening a little to get more traffic. RIght now breaking into a new place is more difficult than it's ever been.
