Guys, Who has the best Philly Cheesesteaks that are open? Pat's? Genos? Tony Luke's? I'm coming from Northern NJ, so it's worth the ride as I'm taking a buddy with me and we'll bring some back and have a feast on my deck! I've been to Pat's once 15 years ago and Geno's about 5 years ago. Takes me about 90 minutes to get to CC from where I live (I'm a lead foot), so if the consensus recommends one place more than the others, that's where I will go!

Thanks in advance to all who reply!!

Johns is at Front & Snyder, In South Philly. It is the hands down faveorite of all the foodies who visit to film a TV shoe. See Zimmern, Bourdaim, etc. it also was the blind taste test winner of the Phila Inquirer. Can’t go wrong there.

You are going to drive 3 hours to eat cheese steaks on your deck? They will probably taste like shit by the time you get back to your deck.

We would have one of them in our car outside the place, then bring the other one home and have it for dinner. I've done that already, it's just as good! I've got stadium chairs, coolers, warming bag, just like when I tailgate at a football game! I'm prepared!

Dude, you gotta be in your 20's or early 30's. If I did something like that now, I would absolutely be sick. Note judging you, but I personally would prefer starting a charcoal barbecue, throwing a thick Ribeye steak on and let it cook to medium rare. Would accompany it with a salad and baked potato and I would be in taste bud heaven. PS, If I could have a slice of Juniors Cheese Cake for dessert, complete Narvana.

This is the best place in Philly, on Henry Ave in Roxborough. In your way out if the city if you live in Montgomery County.

Always a line here, now outside, takeout but they have a couple outside tables. You can order on the phone, but when you get there you will go to the top of the line and get one cooked fresh.

DiNics pulled roast pork with long hots and provolone no better flavor on the planet.

Over-rated: Dalessandros, Genos, Pat's, Tony Lukes - DO NOT waste your time or money - No true Philly citizens goes there.

Philips is just plain garbage.

John's is a strong runner up to DiNics
Fins a better one, Delessandros is number 1.
