How many places do you think will permanently close?

I have been wondering it's the spa owners have enough money to pay rent without anyone working. I'll bet you that there are some places that will end up permanently closed because of non-payment of rent, or because the girls have gone home where other places. In New York City, I bet we lose at least one quarter the place is permanently. What do you guys think?

At first, yeah.
And depends on the type of places, too.
The C-AMPs with 30-45 y/o providers? Probably will see a decrease/downturn. Not a big loss, IMO.
But...with the economic downturn/depression that is headed our way?
Lot's of hot, young American college age girls will need $$$.
And that will be a boon for the type of providers that are right in my wheelhouse.
Not saying I am happy about this. Quite the contrary. I believe this shutdown was totally avoidable and was in part done deliberately by some sinister types to cause this nasty situation. But one good thing that may/will come out of it will be hot young girls needing older, well off guys to help them financially. This whole mess may end disastrously, but if we can get a few of years of hot young poon out of it before the end...good for us.

You are being optomistic i like it.

However at @Woodguy sadly i think your 25 % number is being done conservatively.

Right after things open up, there will likely be fewer AMPs around than we had before this started. But eventually, when and if stability returns after a while, I think some of the old places will reopen and/or new ones will spring up. There’s just too much of a market in this business for potential owners not to take advantage of the opportunities

I was thinking the same thing about new talent. Question, was that the case from the 2008 recession?

Demand for their services isn't going to change permanently. I'm sure short term some will close, but once covid is past us and demand comes back (and it will be), they will open up again.

These places have the most important asset in their business....a client list that is safe from law enforcement. It takes many years of risk taking to accumulate this.

If they close, I think they will reopen and let their regular clients know where they are. It's too lucrative a business for them to give up entirely due to something like this. They are collateral damage here, and when covid is no longer a worry, nothing will have changed in their business environment. It will still be very profitable to have an amp in midtown.

As I'd mentioned in another thread:
While most of us can get some type of governmental bailout (unemployment, stimulus checks, etc)- these girls won't. While some may be 'savers', I doubt they can sit for 3 months. Six?
With planes grounded and travel restricted- how does that go for them??

Some of the girls you know may be gone when it's over. Maybe they go back to their homeland or move to a different city. Maybe they find something different to do here. Its likely some of our favorites will be gone.

Having said that, there will be new girls. Many of the established amps were bringing new girls fairly frequently anyway. There will be new atfs.

As I've said on other threads, the money is too good in midtown, especially for providers with no other job skills, for it to go away. Someone is going to fill the void.

A few girls have said Midtown for many of the Asians is a last choice for a work location. If they don’t want to work in Flushing or Brooklyn to not be recognized or encounter people from their social life, then Manhattan is the place to be. Full on gfe service or higher volume low service is a decision they make too.

Now with the current environment, some also feel the American, or rather the non-Asian customer, is more likely a virus carrier and are being extremely selective in where they go or who to see. Asians are used to wearing masks to avoid germs and this concept was brand new to Americans.

More likely when things go back to normal, the girls will work where they can. Some houses in LA and SF have way more business than NYC. They’ll follow the money for sure

For sure on the mask wearing and California.

Had a couple of really great ones out of a place on 5th and 31st a few years back (miss that SH Timeline). Choi was one, forget the other's name but Keigel was part of her service! Amazing duo, had the cell, went to California for the weather, the money and the weed LOL. Sure do miss them.
As far as masks go, that explains why Korea is doing much better than we are with this- SARS fucked them up and they learned from it, as we will learn from COVID. When I go back to work I'm sure I'll be a lot different as far as day to day practices. Gloves, mask, etc.

I've watched this video, maybe you should, too. This guy is the Dr Fauci of Korea. Subtitles, so you may want a bigger screen...

My guess is that the Tier 1 places will resurface (GGR/AL/NYAW/Grace) quickly with smaller crews. Definitely going to see some providers disappear as well. It's basically what's going to happen with restaurants after this...all small to medium sized players won't live and the established tier 1 fast food will be the only thing around for a while. If you're a provider willing to risk it after this, lots of cash to be made since people aren't going to stop hobbying and the market will be hot after this draught...

there might be more scrutiny from le so more utr establishments/indies instead of the neon lighted places
Bingo! We all know prostitution will never end but will Deblasio and Cuomo allow massage massage parlors on street level and women for sale on the streets of Flushing and Jackson Heights.
