Hey guys,

Wanted to get your opinion on this. I went to somewhere out of state recently. Tried to contact some providers (literally probably called 20 of them). Today I got a call from a phone number that had the name of a fed agency (the big one) on my phone. 2 calls and no voicemail. Do you guys think it’s legit or is someone trying to scam me? I double checked the number and it’s the one for the HQ in that city basically. Anyone deal with something like this before? Not sure what to do..
thanks

If it is really Fed, it could be that one or more of the places you called may have been suspected of money laundering and/or human trafficking. BTW, what Fed is it? You just called to ask for pricing, and decided not to go.

I’m thinking the number could’ve been spoofed by one of the numbers I called as well. Any advice on what to do? I thought they would leave me a voicemail if it was legitimate

yes. Ignore them. If they call back, and you answer, and it really is them, you would quite reasonable in saying you thought they were scammers.

Then, of course, say nothing. Lying to the FBI is a crime. Telling them to fuck off is a protected right.
