I'm also heading there from NYC for a couple days. The places I researched are clustered in the west and northwest suburban areas. I'm staying in downtown and it's much slimmer pickings. Where will you be and will you have a car?

Look these places up:
New Spa, KGFE and Ksecretgarden, Prosperity massage and lucky trends hair salon, nothing comes to mind downtown worth the effort.

Metal: the downtown AMPs appear to be Sweet Touch, Asahi, Retreat, 7506 Spa, Paradise Reflexology, Tender Oriental and GH Thai and Thai Experience. Among those, is there one you'd recommend. Otherwise I'm out $50 each way for cab fare to get anywhere more reliable. Any advice appreciated

I have experience with both Thai experience and gh , Thai experience is out of business, not sure if they ever opened back up, GH has gone downhill, I personally don’t recommend.
