I think "most" by default means "not everyone." But the number of non-Chinese that visited China and brought back the virus definitely outnumbered the Chinese that made it out of WuHan.
What would world travelers be doing in some obscure city in China? Really a tourist destination? Honestly I never heard of it before all this started.

Makes sense. As I suspected.

For westerners? I can't imagine.
I know you have a hard time believing srhsrh, but he's already spoken about how much business is conducted there with American firms. Plus, it is a a major travel hub, and a fairly popular tourist destination. For other people besides you.
Makes sense. As I suspected.
Those numbers includes Chinese from all over China, not just WuHan. At least there's fact that Non-Chinese could have brought the virus back with them.

I'm curious. Have you ever heard of Kunming (昆明)? It's a city that's known for several things, including beautiful women ... I'm not out to stump you with crazy questions about obscure locations, I'm just curious about how much you know about various cities in China.

Not much really. I have had some girlfriends from Chengdu and Harbin. Not familiar with all that many China cities at all.

Okay, fair enough.

Kunming - average year-round temperature is 70°F, the main product is flowers, and beautiful women are falling from trees.

Harbin, has some nice points, but it's super cold in the winter.

it still got that 2.1% or less fatality rate though, right? It still overwhelmingly kills senior citizens, right? ok, then my opinion on it hasn't changed either.
There are 92,381 positive cases at the moment in NY and 2935 dead, that's 3.1 %, no 2.1 or less. Doesn't matter to me if you change your mind, just do your part to avoid catching it and spreading it.

I know a healthy 36 year old and a 42 year old who both died from covid-19. This thing is no joke. Also the longer it keeps spreading the longer everything has to shut down. Take it serious.

Do any members here still feel that this situation is being blown out of proportion?

----------------------------------------------------
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday that 2,935 New Yorkers have died from the coronavirus so far with 562 new deaths over the last 24 hours — a 23% jump and the single-biggest daily increase in deaths since the outbreak began a few weeks ago.

My job is essential and thank god for that. Although I'm more at risk I'd rather be out here than be cooped up watching the media do what they do best, sensationalizing and then speculating on how "apocalyptic " this will turn out.

IMO, we can't trust the Chinese government. Of course, yesterday, Bloomberg broke a story on how the government in China doctored its statistics. In general, that government has directed intellectual property theft, ultra-aggressive territorial claims, hack attacks ... the list goes on.

I have various friends who lived there, conducted business there and/or have had up-close & personal encounters with government agents.

We can't trust the Chinese government.
Wuhan is a success story and we are not because Wuhan was essentially locked tight for 2 months. That means, no public transportation, no busses, can't get in and out of the city. If you live in an area where people are sick, you can't even leave your house and have people brought food to you. The Chinese government mobilized 40,000 doctors and constructed specialized ICU's and everyone critically ill got a ventilator. The doctors in China look like wearing hazmat suits when taking care of these patients.

Less than a month of the official lockdown here in New York, you have none of those. Worse, most people I see don't even wear a facemask. Nurses wearing garbage bags for PPE's and they have lack of protective equipment. There's going to be more people die in New York than in Wuhan in the next week or 2 because the CCP take this coronavirus seriously and our government did not.

At this point, I'm fairly certain China did this on purpose to bring the United States to its knees.

It is starting to add up, mainly because if you look at things now, China was very successful.
