Goodbye Hobby

Hey everyone I wanted to let everyone know I’m officially retiring from the hobby.

I got into this hobby 10 years ago and it was a way to escape a reality I was unhappy with.

I’m sure many of you can relate, but this hobby has put a personal and financial strain over the years.

I had great and bad experiences but I’m only writing to put it out there for closure and writing this is helping me feel good about it.

Many of you have a great experience with this and not judging anyone, however if there is someone thinking about it, do consider.
it use to be a 2-3x a week hobby and I’m now clean for two weeks .. I know it’s short but it took a lot of personal challenges to not do it.

Best of luck to everyone! Again, not judging anyone who still continues this.. but writing and getting off my chest feels great.

2-3x a week? No wonder why it put a financial strain! This hobby is expensive as is for once or twice a month, I can’t imagine 2-3x a week could be..good luck!

2-3 times a week? That's easily a mortgage payment by the end of the month. Now that you quit you can put that $$$ to good use and by yourself a boat. That will keep you busy for sure.

yeah, I go 2-3 times a MONTH, and planning the $$ is exhausting.
I've retired from the hobby many times. One day it will be the last time

But in all seriousness, good luck Xander. Take the time off for your mental health. Perhaps go on a vacation and get away from Jersey for a bit (will be easier to avoid the temptation abroad).

Yes 2-3 times a week is a little much $$$ lol. Good luck. But I think the itch will be back. Just take it slow.
And the hobby is not what it used to be.

Do you have an SO?
I would guess not due to your mongering frequency, which is similar to mine.
And if no SO, are you going to try dating? match.com or something? Bars & clubs? Church?

I’ve cut back considerably myself.
Been hooked on the stock market.
Find it more enjoyable playing the market.
I still treat myself about once a month.

I am actually considering quitting, it's really just that I am not feeling it anymore, like I don't enjoy it you know, it's becoming mechanical, I think I need to meet someone for real, and have a proper affair I guess

Best of luck. To really quit, you will need to stop reading whore boards, stop media integration with providers and hardest of all, find an activity to not only occupy your time, but just as satisfying and rewarding.

As time passes, you will be amazed at what triggers a memory and brings on the desire.

There are many levels at which to engage in the hobby. At different times a different level might be more rewarding than the level at which you hobbied.

Good luck for sure. I’m doing the dating apps bid and that just makes me want to monger even more. I need to move to the middle of nowhere USA where the activity is non existent to truly make an attempt to stop the hobby.

I retired from the hobby 3 years ago (2-3 per week).. My business sent me to Thailand for 30 days and I met 90 young ladies in that time period. .. Now back to twice a week which seems reasonable

I did a stint in the Philippines. Hard coming back to reality.
