I’m staying at the Hotel Medellin. Is it far from there? I like the location of that hotel and it’s in a decent part of the city and close to the El Rodeo golf course.

20 years in the Navy has taught me the following:
Thailand is amazing and cost effective. Bypass a high class hotel and you'll be just as happy in a $30-40 one.
Cambodia is definitely on the rise just be careful on 2 fronts. Lot of underage workers forced into it by parents. Meat is a concern, the one year I went they imported tons of rat meat to supplement the beef.
Philippines is all or great depending were you go. Bypass Angeles and Manila look towards boracay.
Hong Kong is cool af but expensive.
Japan is amazing but expensive. If you research ahead of time you can properly monger.
Same for Korea. Just beware of Filipinas outside of the Philippines. They will price gauge

I agree Hong Kong is very expensive. kuala Lampur in my opinion is one of the nicest cities I’ve visited in Asia.
