Fake Bill

So I hesitate to name the place, as its quite popular and I myself have been there many times... but last week, I think I got a fake $100 bill swapped back to me when I went to pay the HF - I handed a good $100 bill, and a few minutes later, they came back and asked for "different" money - I thought it was because they didn't have change for the hundred, so I said I would figure it out afterward they them. Normal session, but when I went to pay with the same bill they said it was no good... looking at it more closely, it did appear fugazy (smaller, lighter weight, some holes in it, no embedded stripe....)

Now, I ONLY get cash from one source and it's from the bank, and I never am transacting anywhere where I get $100's back for anything... while anything is possible, I am fairly sure I did NOT bring that bill in with me. And when I got home and looked it again, there was some red chinese characters printed on the back of the bill!

So, kind of curious if others have had experiences like this (in the NNJ area)

Thanks

Just when you thought you had heard, seen or experienced all there was to hear, see and experience, a new one pops out at you.

Wonder why a fake bill would have Chinese characters on it.

Any idea what they mean?

“Prop”

You should have told them you will report them for exchanging counterfeit money. Some scum bag probably gave them that and they found you to trade it with?
This.

They were waiting for some schmuck to pass off the bad bill they received. Unfortunately that was you.

Name the place, this kinda bullshit can’t be allowed to happen. Too many guys let bait and switches, price gouging, theft of service slide because they just want to nut. But handing fake currency to a customer is serious shit.

Doesn't matter how "popular" this place is. If they're pulling this on customers, we have the right to know and protect ourselves. Since you've already let the cat out of the bag, might as well name the place.

I was a Petroleum Engineer in HS and the owner would lose his shit if he went to the bank and tried deposit fake money. They obviously do not give it back. Completely unscrupulous but he would make us pass it off on some other poor schmuck. I was 16 - I just did as I was told.

Thanks. I always use 100s to keep down on volume. I'm going to do the initial thing or something similar on large bills so i know.

A year ago a stripper texted me the next day saying I passed her fake 20s. Really? At a club I go to every week? She was young so I'll give her a pass but it is not cool to accuse someone of passing fake bills. I told her to research on how to verify bills and she didn't text back.

Over the years when massage places were busted, sometimes one of the charges was Money Laundering. Maybe that is what is going on here?

Lesson here is never use large bills like $100's. Always use exact change.
Agree 100%, arrange your money before you go to an AMP or elsewhere and dont expect or accept change. As convenient as they may be big bills lead to this stuff like OP mentioned, no one is going to pull that shit over a $20 bill. I have no idea where this AMP is but hopefully this hurts business, id never go anywhere where I thought there was an issue with the cash...theres 500 other local AMPS willing to take your money and not accuse you of being a thief
