I was about to go to bed after I showered, an explosion occurred around 8 to 10 miles away, shook my house, sounded like thunder, quickly realized it wasn't thunder, blew windows out, garage doors and roofs damaged in the vicinity of the explosion, some structural damage to quite a few homes in the immediate area. I'm watching the local breaking news report, some people were injured, no deaths, thank God, also showing some homes looking uninhabitible.

Glad you're okay, Mike! After 2 hours, still not much explanation for the explosion. "Industrial building" is all they've been writing.

Wasn’t there another one of these around Houston 6 months ago? Like a chemical factory? Glad you’re ok.
yes, there was a chemical explosion recently. Todays explosion happened in the vicinity of a school, had it occurred during time kids are going to school or folks waiting for public transportation, could have been much worse obviously. Check out the escort who posted an ad in the Houston review forums, what you think?.

Glad you're okay @mikemendez.

I remember reading some materials about the regulatory environment in Texas. It is a tax favorable state in general. As such, you do have some looser regulations than some states with less favorable taxation. Don't quote me on the stats (I would have to dig deep to find them), but I believe there's a higher percentage of chemical related incidents in your state than most.

I'm not staying this to be political. I know you from SH days. I'm just saying that if you move to another home in the future, be mindful of the distance between you and any chemical plant.

Again, I'm glad you're okay.

Thanks @Bit, I drove by the cross street, cops prevent anyone from driving through unless it's a homeowner, photos on the news display what looks like a bomb fell out of the sky, many sadly lost all. I live 4 miles away, my house shook, I was still awake at the time, freaked me out.

We’re glad you’re ok that’s what matters. Born n bred New Yorker and I wouldn’t pay lower Manhattan prices
Perhaps Bit is right and you should move to TX while (sporting a Gmen Jersey) or move to the outer boroughs unless it’s about the proximity from work but yeah there’s so much f U construction money going on down there
