"In the area", "passing by", etc. are all relative. Some people consider going a few miles off their trek as "nearby". When I visit new areas, I'll sometimes plan my route to "Drive by" different facilities. Sometimes we're not telling the entire story, after all who wants to read a three paragraph diatribe of how I managed to be near a particular spa. Sometimes the story is absolutely true and complete. I recently visited (and reviewed) an amp that I literally have passed hundreds of times over several years and not visited. It does happen.
For the record - not every review starts that way. I may have said something similar only a couple times in my 42 reviews so far on this site.
