Suit yourself, guy. It's, quite literally, different strokes for different folks. I could just as easily feel sorry for your kind of monger who never gets to experience the pleasure of an unexpected intimacy.

"so many more certain opportunities available"? That wasn't true at all in the HBG area 10 years ago when I was getting started. Back then, even HE's required some patience and persistence. Even these days, anything beyond basic service is not widely available in HBG or the West Shore. One result of being in a challenging area is that many of us found that we enjoyed the hunt. My own outings are roughly a 50-50 mix of predictably enjoyable sessions with long-time successes and newer "projects" where I don't yet know the limits.

I didn’t say don’t enjoy the hunt. Going to a place where you know you have no chance of success because you are seeking to “convert” the providers strikes me as foolish when there are other opportunities out there where your odds are much better. You assumed I meant only FS places. That is incorrect. I meant any places where you know you have a realistic shot at achieving your goal, whatever it is. That can certainly include places where they need to get to know you before the menu expands beyond therapeutic, but where you know that is a possibility down the road based on other intel. And no need to “feel sorry” for me. I have had plenty of “unexpected intimacy” experiences over the years, just not with my own hand in the presence of a provider because that’s not my cup of tea.

The will be 'no chance' when you are unwilling to take one, and 'no intel' situations - I'm not sure I've ever experienced that situation. Everything is intel.

I'm with you on the last sentence.

I agree that you need to be willing to take a chance sometimes. The “no chance” scenario to which I refer is different. It is seen from time to time in reviews here, where a monger reports visiting a well-reviewed provider who has over an extended period of time (sometimes years) consistently refused to provided anything other than therapeutic services in the hopes of convincing her to provide more, then expressing disappointment - or even irritation - that he failed to do so. That, to me, is wasting time and money and setting yourself up for a bad experience. I’ve encountered the “no intel” situation - which is different - a few times but mainly with new AMPs, new providers, and or when visiting a new area where I can’t locate any reviews…and even then, you can get a little intel from the ads, from the advertised services and from the place itself when you arrive.

I think some of the comments here are just guys letting thier egos take over. Everyone has thier own reasons for going to spas. Some like the thrill of the hunt, others the sure home run. To me it depends on mood and availability. I see nothing wrong with DIY places, sometimes they can be erotic, sometimes a tease. To each his own.
I always like the explorations, the thrill of the hunt. If I want a home run I know where to go. I have several memories of developing providers, great times!

My ego is certainly involved, but it doesn't lead. Regarding the thrill of the hunt, most of that Occurred during my early days. It is now a different.

To each his own.... But I can't imagine giving up the hunt.
Your ego may not lead, but that wasn't where I was going, it's the guys saying they would never DIY. Like a high school kid who says he never jerks off.

Apples and oranges. Lots of guys, including me, have no interest whatsoever in going to a DIY place or in paying someone to watch them pleasure themselves...and we would never do it. That’s a simple fact. It’s nothing like the comparison you made to a high school kid. We have many more choices and opportunities than does a high school kid.

DYI at a massage place? Some will, but I won't either. And when you won't, you come to find that there are plenty of 'DYI only' places that are not.

Very good topic. And you will come to find that many of the F/S shops that dish out the typical 30-45 minutes sessions with the one guy experiencing a limited X, will do a 60-75 with the other guy experiencing a limitless X, Y & Z. Pushing beyond a boundary and discovering newly chartered territory in a town, with a place, within a provider’s trust gives many thrill, while just doing what is a story scripted protocol that’s pleasant for others can be satisfying too. Outlooks that are so vastly different may be all the same, simply depending on how it is viewed. Most of us want to feel special& we want services that are beyond subpar, and not easily offered. Whether you read reviews for a long time, flatter your ATF with gifts dinner, and a night out… or prefer to go out and do a little dirty work at a place that has lesser services, we all are caught up with a hobby of wanting more & more out of our provider. How each person goes out to compete, well, at the end of the day, happy hunting…

i was thinking about this thread yesterday while getting a massage. IMO, diy seems to be the best. i was in philly. fs is .60 an hour, which really means 30-40 mins. they just want to fuck and hurry you to the door. DIY AMPS, you get a thorough massage, PM if you want, enough teasing to not think about DIY. Think of them as wait staff at restaurants, they lot revenue too, tip them double.

Many years ago I was seeing a TM in Delaware. After a few months of regular visits, I asked her if she’d ever lend a hand. She politely said no. At the end of that session, she brought in a roll of paper towels and said I should take all the time I needed to get cleaned up and dressed and left the room. Obviously she was given me permission to flog the bishop in her studio…so I obliged…when in Rome, right? One evening I noticed she brought in the paper towels and left, as usual, but didn’t completely close the door. Sure enough, she was watching and had her hand up her dress. I invited her in. We took care of ourselves from then on at the same time and she’d sometimes talk dirty. No touching each other however…she was married. It went on like this for about a year. And then one day, well you can figure the rest out. Unfortunately, she got all weirded out afterwards and everything other than TM ended. I stopped going to her shortly thereafter. Once you’ve flown first class, no one wants to take the Greyhound Bus to happy land…
