I used to spend a lot of time near FIT and had occasional success picking up there, but my experience is that those girls are a tough crowd. They come to NY pretty wide eyed and innocent from whatever small town they're from, but being connected to the fashion industry, they quickly get access to fashion parties, wealthy guys, hot clubs, and upper crust of NY.
Many are still poor and may need the money, but since they quickly get accustomed to high end clubs, bars, restaurants, and travel....they are hard to please. There are certainly a lot of beautiful girls there.
