Instead of raising fares, tolls, and other expenses to cover COVID-related revenue losses, which mostly affect the middle and lower class the most, they should just legalize prostitution like many other forward thinking countries as another huge revenue stream. They're already in the process of legalizing recreational marijuana.

you will never see that revenue stream cause none of them will claim any of that money. "forward thinking", how about reality, lets try some of that.

They are probably trying to legalize it like weed. Taxation would be a great money maker for NY.
another one with policy built on hopes and dreams. u wont see the revenue. it will continue to be under the table. unless its a legit brothel you wont be able see any tax money from it. mind u the prices would sky rocket forcing even more under the table transactions.

the big joke is most people in support of things like this are the first ones to not want this kind of business in their area.

Well said. I know I wouldn't. Certain parts or Brooklyn and Queens are going to have busy strips decreasing what quality of life exists in the neighborhoods it's taking place in.

My 2 cents. Don't legalize but instead decriminalize with some regulations. For example, all providers MUST show proof of STD/HIV testing to client even without their request. They pay a yearly fee for this card ($200) and must get tested at least once a week. That way doctors/labs can collect the testing money and boom NYC will get a portion of their tax. Also mongers will all know to ask for testing history without sounding like a dickhead.

Your out of your mind. Even in Nevada ladies don’t get tested every week. Plus they don’t show everyone they be tested. I can see things going the wrong way with that. The ladies real name would be on the test document and even the personal data. You get one of those crazy stalkers and you have other issues.
