All the closures have really started to make things stale in the Wilmington area. My own reviews have completely stopped because I’ve found myself going to the same spot repeatedly and less and less often. The reviews have always followed a kind of 1-2 spa cycle in prevalence but it’s even more pronounced now that we’re being deprived of options. If you want to see a sad sight just take a look at Philly Pike. Used to be a gold mine now there’s only like 2 spas left.

I think things will bounce back once this DOJ posturing is done because Delaware real estate is still relatively cheap, but in the mean time these are definitely gonna be some dark times. Let’s stay safe out there fellas, and make sure we’re treating the few women that are left kindly.

There new closures outside of this threads noted closures? Think I saw a post about Kara and Bubbly, formerly known as Crystal Spa, being closed in Wilmington.

You probably already noticed these but the ones I’m referring to are, Silverside and Philly Pike corner which was a little before this main wave, Eastern Spa, Aura Spa, and Best Asian. I believe there was another one for only a few weeks that someone got their car broken into in front of, that’s another if you count that. There were so many options before driving down this road and if none sounded good you could take the left on Darley to go towards Rainbow (still there but a very easy target), Accupressure (also open for now but I’m suspect of after hearing about their camera room), and New Sky which was the first to take this DOJ hit specifically I believe.

Also a thought I had while thinking about Wilmington spas, why are they so often next to sandwich shops lol. Kim’s, JJ (Golden Seven), New Sky, that one place in Trolley. Makes going during the day annoying!

Agree RT. Too much info about Wellness on Elkton Rd being talked about on here. Going to end up like RBS and the house on Park Ave in Newark. Just drawing way too much attention. Plus it sounds like a revolving door of mongers. Nothing is being reviewed about Wellness on Pulaski. And N Wilmington is drying up daily. Question is, which stores are safe? As the numbers dwindle in Delaware, it is that much easier for LE to keep track of the remaining open businesses. Is it illegal to get a massage? Absolutely not. But if you are the one on the table when they come in, what happens?

Not worth it right now for me. Think I will lay low for a little bit.

My 2 cents, take it or leave it.

Stay safe out there.

I honestly never saw this coming. With everything going on I figured it would be the last thing on their minds. Turns out with everything going on it’s the first thing on their minds. Massive violent crime spikes in Wilmington that they can’t do anything about. So hey why not close the spa on the corner. “Progress”

This, this right here is 100% accurate. We all need to be smarter about what little is left available.

I don’t want to talk out of turn because I don’t have a lot of experience but I don’t think Leo is stupid. Their job is to observe and know what’s going on in their community. They know damn well what’s up and I don’t think reviews make a difference. Basically they don’t care until the higher ups tell them to care; which is what we are seeing now. But I could be wrong and I generally agree that discretion is better.

I often wonder that myself...if you're on the table and LE comes in, what happens? I mean, can they really do anything to any customer? The way they bust these places are by posing as undercover patrons and get offered something.

Robert Kraft, owner of the Patriots, was arrested for receiving a happy ending in a Florida AMP a couple years ago. LE had him on video receiving happy endings. Hopefully, LE isn’t recording any facilities around here, but I guess we’ll never know until it’s too late.

If mongers “lay low for awhile” there won’t be enough business and more will close. Instead consult bono fide legal source(s) on your rights and how to non-communicate with LE at or off premises.

Leo illegally installed the cameras and the entire thing was tossed. That being said; he still got very bad PR.

It’s certainly possible for them to “flip” an amp and install cameras. But it’s seriously pathetic that they’d go to such lengths given all the real problems our state faces.
