They, like all normal citizens in this country are screwed as soon as you get pulled into the legal system under any circumstances. It is expensive, time consuming and most importantly, absolutely not a fare system.

There was a class action lawsuit started in April of 2019. I spent some time yesterday looking for any updates on the case, but found nothing. There are some women included in the class action, which you would think would help their cause.

Back in last Oct. (see post #39), the DA conceded that the Class Action Suit was valid in response to Kraft’s attorney’s filing to suppress the video evidence. Won’t surprise me if the case was already settled.

I looked at post #39. He didn't explicitly say they were valid. He just said there were 4 people who got legitimate massages and were not charged with a crime. In his view, it's like a highway roadblock where everyone gets the breath test. If you're clean, no harm done.

If there was a settlement, I would have expected some publicity, because it ought to have been pretty big.

I think there was some poor janitor in that spa charged with a felony.

I hope it is withdrawn. How can you charge him with a felony -- I assume trafficking-- if there was no trafficking to be found?

So, a lot of taxpayer dollars spent and nothing to show for it. Oh wait, they posted these men's names for all to see so they have to deal with community shame and possibly divorce. All for what? There was no trafficking, that's just a buzz word they use in order to get warrants issued. If there were drugs, women held against their will, or something like that then yes, go after them. The only thing this did was to let people think twice about visiting a spa in Florida or at least in that area.

Florida has the most toxic sheriffs in the US. Just bad dudes, in my opinion. Google Polk County and see how the sheriff there operates.

The only people whose privacy rights were violated by the warrant, according to the brief, were people who were not charged with a crime. Out of 39 videos recorded, four captured legally permissible massages, according to the brief.

The Class Action Suit was for Violation of Privacy due to lack of protocol in case of a legal massage.

If you are referring to the Class Action Suit filed this April, my statement for the DA's admission is still valid. Those words in that filing will be detrimental to the DA's Office's case. Although I'm not sure if that case has been settled.

An interesting case because I remember when they were about to release Kraft's name, the police said we got a really big fish and we'll tell you soon who it is.
