Yup. Been there done that. FH you really have to dig around. Wave spa, not sure of name they change every so often, I believe still closed. They were ok depending on who you get. They change providers regularly so I hit em up every so often see who they got. Hit or miss.

The flowing water and soap will protect you against most common germs. It is no different than a gym locker room if it is properly maintained.

It is the slippers and the towels that you should worry about.
Only if they scrub & hose the table down before/after each use. Many times they don't do that and just let the old water sit there after using it.

But I agree with towels/slippers. I like to scout the AMP to see how they do laundry. If they don't have a laundry machine on site, then I would be worried.

I bring my own towel. The ladies always giggle when they see that I take out a towel in my bag. Well, at least I feel more comfortable this way.

I only repeat at spas when I can see the washing machine. It is pretty hard to hide something that big. I'm always asking for a different towel when I enter new spas just to ask the girl if it is freshly washed. There is a difference from a Downy and bleach soaked towel and one that is fluffy because it is fresh from the dryer. Any dry and hard towel, then I'm out of there.

I had a friend from SH days that would have slippers a robe and an extra towel in his spa knapsack. He would never fail at bringing fruit for the girls and was quite the VIP among the spas he frequented. The girls always laughed at his robe, but it was a great conversation starter.

Ha I live in Forest Hills. Sakura spa is storefront won’t be open yet. Jin spa (forget spelling) by 75th train station same deal. Not missing too much as providers are ho hum. Standard rub n tug. Good only if you lazy don’t want to travel. Further down queens Blvd in Elmhurst a few are open the basement ones but I’m not a fan.
Never been or heard of Jin Spa. Is that J&D or a completely different place?
