I’ve been thinking about trying it there’s a place not far from me that offers it just very wary of it bc needles, bloodborne pathogens, actual skill of the acupuncturist etc.

Acupuncture works but there’s some better than others. I would suggest going to a Chinese acupuncturist. They usually are better than Koreans. If you have a certain ailment, they should be able to fix it in one or two sessions. If they say that you need to come for a month or so, it’s usually bullshit. Their way of milking it.

As far as needles, each one should be packaged separately. If they are already loose I would say something to them because you don’t know if they were sanitized.

Acupuncture works for me. My wife pushed me to go and I was very skeptical. I go to a Chinese doctor with over 40 years experience and the results have been amazing. I suffer from insomnia and the first time I went she checked me over and said I give you ‘happy needle’. Lol. Anyway the treatment lasts for me about two weeks and I sleep like a champ. She also has helped with lower back and neck issues. The needles don’t hurt and they are single use. I recommend it.

Yeah I’m maybe I’m just weird about stuff but I won’t even go to a barber that doesn’t put his tools through an autoclave.
Not weird at all. Very smart. All it takes is one viable organism getting past your immune defenses to cause an infection.
Glad you are aware and wary.

I’ve seen two different ones. Both Chinese. One worked really well, I got the feeling she not only knew what she was doing but believed it. The other one, no discernable benefit. They better use single use needles. A couple of visits and you should feel some improvement.

@Dogefacedboy : There's a school of "alternative" healing/therapies in Glenside called the Won Institute. They teach and do accupuncture there. You have the option of having it done by a student while they're supervised by a master (cheaper), or you can make an appointment with a master (still not too pricey). I went to one of the masters for 5 or 6 treatments. Unfortunately it didn't help my situation but like with amps, YMMV.
