My "out of control" moment was when I was working a job where Friday's were very quiet, and I would partake weekly. That's the extent I allowed it to get out of control. Considering that means $500-$600/month, it was more money than I should have been spending on such a hobby.
Oh, and regarding being a "sex addict", have you seen the movie "Shame?" The way I really define sex addict is if you don't care whether you get it from a woman or a man. Otherwise, you're just horny, lol.

Out of control is difficult to define and different for everyone.
I'd say it's out of control when it's interfering with your life and responsibilities, to a large degree. If you're spending money you really can't afford, taking lots of time from what you need to be doing, then yea. This is completely subjective, but important to be self honest about it. Its a fine line to cross, and once you do, it's really hard to make it back.
Otherwise, YOLO, and as long as you are taking precautions for your safety (and your SOs), mitigating risks, and genuinely enjoying it - rock out with your cock out.
For me, it's usually, as my name implies, onceinawhile (1x month), unless i find a steady outside thing.

Not to sound snarky, but having been to many AA/NA/SA meetings, I know how far off I am from having a serious problem. I do, however, spend too much money when I can’t afford it, moving things around, stealing from Peter to pay Pauline. But I have never compromised myself or another for a suck off. If anything, I have done the opposite, compromised a good session by rushing to and from to squeeze it in, poor planning, over researching.

the best way to NOT "have" to go is a quick jerk in the morning. That usually satisfies my itch for the day. I try to go only once every 10-14 days if I can and am now in that zone. Thought about it last night and this morning I pulled up pornhub on my phone, watched a few videos of "college girls giving blowjobs" and reminiscence about my time in college and was the master of my own domain for a bit. That took care of it for most of the day. Now though, I got home from the beach for the day and we had plans to go out by my SO is not feeling well and we cx the plans so my first thought was "how can I get away for 90 minutes or so" and my second thought is maybe I will just go to costco and target and gawk and the women in their summer clothes and buy some things. So yeah, it's a disease and an addiction that we can keep in check at time but eventually the beast needs to come out.
