Started at 18 going to the old Troc in Philly, then going to the Apollo and Forum on Market St. in Philly. Then checked out the old white buildings on Admiral Wilson in Camden and on 73 in Pennsauken before moving on to the Aquarius Theater on 130 and then the Carnival down the road on 130 before moving on to AMPs. My, how the years have gone by.
You guys are bringing back so many good memories, Hunts Point in the late 70's early 80's. What a great time having drinks at Mr. Wedges going out for a BJ coming back to the Wedge for more drinks then hitting the street again. Loved those days. Remember the HBO special the guy did about the girls of Hunts Point? I knew almost all those ladies in that documentary.
Late to this game - early forties. Largely because: 1. Into the whole Cougar thing back when they were just called Older Women. At 19 I looked like mid-20s and had a fool proof ID to back it up. Used real month and day, changed year, said I was in graduate school at my real college. So no weaving of tangled webs with my story. 2. Married early 30s, things fine for a few years, and well, you guys know. A few affairs with the Soccer Mom crowd but they start clinging/wanting more/wanting more conversation. I hate talking though. 3. Came point in time simply too busy with work, kids and older parents. Easy decision at that point as to how to fulfill my needs in an efficient and cost effective manner. Never looked back or regretted. And good thing did not start as early as some of you- I may not have been as cautious in my youth.
