New Jersey mongers: just realize that Phil Murphy is going to use this pandemic to control every aspect of your lives in the dark days ahead. Control freaks don’t change; they just seek opportunities.

yep, couldn't have said it better... When the king speaks he expects the peasants to fall in line.

And those who do not quite understand the benefits of a republic should understand it gives you to option of moving to another state.

Agree. One thing I find odd about the debt burden argument in New Jersey: I left the state and thus I have no long term debt burden to New Jersey. The politicians there arguing debt burden make it sound like a lifetime shackle for me and others. No. I left and others are free to go to at some point in their lives, too.

Debt Burden? Sounds like North Koreas 3 Generations of Punishment.

It does seem unusually cold in this part of Carolina, but you’re right that it won’t last. It was colder here than Jersey for two straight days.

Thought it was Murphy’s Revenge — like a case of the shits.:D
The Carolinas are prone to ice storms that knock out power for weeks. Investing in a Generator might be worthwhile.

Eventually I may move further south. I also have considered New Mexico, which I visited once and really liked.

The nice thing about renting is I can pick up easily and go. None of the hassles with home ownership any longer for me.

You should retire out west Arizona, Nevada, etc warm all year, no taxes in Nevada. Plenty of Spanish girls available for cheap. Not many Asians if you insist on them.
Not true. There's a decent Azn population in Phoenix. And in Albuquerque (the op mentioned liking NM) there's also a decent concentration. Some surprisingly good spas in NM too. I used to go out there for work before covid.

Still not a big Asian pop compared to here or certainly Flushing. Spanish probably outnumber Asian by 10 to 1 if not more.
I never really date or p2p with non Asians, and never had trouble in either city hooking up. Of course it’s not the city. NYC has the biggest Chinatown outside of China.

I believe that Chinatown in San Fran may be larger in population than NY but not sure. Chinatown plus Flushing would be a very large number.

I spent a week in Albuquerque and really liked it. Enjoyed the New Mexican cuisine, the weather, scenery, casinos and golf.

Santa Fe area is also good but you should avoid the Gallup area unless you do not mind drunken Indians. Tucson is nice in Arizona and Bisbee has nice year round weather. Being close to the border has some benefits cheap food, cheap beer, inexpensive woman, cheap drugs both legal and illegal etc

I don’t know much about the Asian population in the Carolinas but I do know that some good providers have rotated thru the Carolinas. So, it can’t be too desolate.
It is not desolate, but it will s more expensive and more rare. If you want to see the ultimate rotation, I still think Flushing would be a wonderful place to see almost all providers on the east cost when they are on vacation.
