Log hits? Agree about Dinic's if you're in center city. I don't typically go for cheesesteaks in that area. Steve;s Prince of Steaks had a place on 16th St, not sure if it's still open but imo wasn't on par with their original NE Philly locations.
John's Roast Pork with sharp prov and spinach if in South Philly for me.

Pork sandwich at DeNics in Reading Terminal Market or if you really want a cheesesteak go with Cleavers. Can't go wrong with either. Personally I like Chinese food after a session, can't beat Chinatown.

Alright. You all know I will chime in on food. I was in the area back in December for work AND The CC WAWA is closed! I only went there for their hot dogs actually. Safer than the street carts. I'm sure the security price and rent and all sorts of financial factors played into it. Maybe it is part of the homeless cleanup there. Didn't see as many people just randomly enter the Matrix mid walk as I have see in the past, Just a dude in a busy sidewalk start dodging non existent punches and bullets. Apparently heroin gives insane core strength. Never compete in a limbo contest with a person on heroin. Now to food,

Old City has the best cheesesteaks in my outsider opinion It's all about the bread and options. I specifically prefer Pepperjack, Banana peppers(Big bonus if they have Hot Banana peppers so I can add sweet peppers also ), and the place needs to offer onion rings. When I have been there for work it has had different variations that I can order on the usual delivery services. It is annoying that I have to go thru all 3 because they change options every damn day. These have been my most reliable.

-Number 1 for me is Oh Brother, When available get the A1 Steak with extra A1 sauce, pepperjack, any pepper you can add(Prefer banana/sweet blend/both). Onion rings. Great meal.
-Philly Gourmet Steaks-Looking at my order history. This place seems to be my after 10pm sitting in a hotel option. Offer the ingredients I prefer. The pepper options seem to be random. Has always hit the spot.
-Campo's. Has been varied the last year on the sites but can occasionally get what I want. Been way overpriced lately.
-Oregon Steaks has had some variation of cheese, peppers, and sides that I prefer. Haven't ordered apparently since May of last year.
-I apparently used to order a lot from Cleavers but they have not been on my apps lately when I am in the city. Chubbys is apparently another one I liked but I ordered it because Oh Brother didn't offer the A! steak option and I was revolting. haha.

Go with it. Don't go with it. The last couple hotels I've stayed at have recommended Georges in the Market. I haven't tried them. When i am close to the market I load up on Nina's Strawberry Banana Pudding cups to stick in the hotel fridge. Then I randomly pass by the Duck place and buy a whole bunch of deliciousness.

Maybe I should have summarized that you can't go wrong with most food in Philly. Enjoy your wonderful options anyone in the area.

A mutual friend of ours has strongly advised in the past that Donkey's in Camden in by far the best cheesesteak.

Yes the food is amazing at Donkey's. It is a a great stop on the way out of Pa. It is Antony Bourdain Ordained. I should have added that my cheesesteak review is soley based on which app can deliver when it can at my preference. lol. So much good food in the Philly area.

Johns Roast Beef is to die for but these days the line is ridiculous. Angelos on 9th is amazing.

The variant in this for me is Georges Sandwich Shop on 9th and Christian. They have a chopped veal sandwich is to die for. I drive by at least 10 steak shops each and every time I am in the area to let that veal sandwich melt in my mouth.

I'm so glad nobody has recommended the $140.00 wagyu beef cheessteak from Barclay Prime. Let them continue to rip off the tourists and the tasteless nouveau-riche.

If you're looking for a solid neighborhood pizza shop cheesesteak, Giovanni's Pizza at 16th & Chestnut and Joes Pizza at 16th & Sansom both do a solid job. Giovanni's Pizza can also serve you a beer with your steak.

rAMPage, I don't know if either of these places will deliver to your hotel when you're in town, but both have delivered to my office during the day.

All places are now on my list to check on next time. Thanks guys. The Veal sandwich sounds amazing. I do not order delivery from pizza shops anymore in CC for one reason. The past 3 times have been delivered by different dudes' on a bike and they obviously delivered my food using a damn backpack. Everything on my pizza and side items were on the left side of the box, Some orders made me think the extra cheese and sauce option would have been amazing since 4 out of 8 slices had all the ingredients on those 4 slices. The other 4 was just bread. When I want something from a pizza place in Philly I just go to the actual shop since I gave the 3 strikes to that delivery crap.

I will def make a trip to Giovanmi's and Joe's a try.

I highly recommend the brisket cheese steak from Mike's BBQ in south Philly. All the BBQ there is great and some of the best in the region.

If you want to go with a classic my favorite is Johns Roast Pork.

Angelo’s on 9th in Philly is hands down the best cheesesteak! And the pizza is just as good!!

Another vote for John's. 90 year history is hard to deny.

They won best Cheesesteak in Philly like a year or two ago, but their roast pork is what you must try while you are there.

As long as you aren't allergic to greens, get Italiano style with sharp provolone and garlic sauteed spinach. One of the best sandwiches in Philly without a doubt.

My go to is Sonny’s on 2nd and market

Wild card runner is roccos sausage at homedepot.. their rocco special is legit! Chopped up italian hot/sweet sausage mixed with their pepers onion with steak.. i always add their portobello!

If you are ever driving south on Rt 1 in Smyrna DE, Helen's Sausage House has the best deep fried sausage sandwich in the world. Another spot like John's with lines being the norm and not the exception.

did the Donkeys that's further out from the murder neighborhood. it's definitely seasoned differently, maybe also have some tenderize. i swear the secret ingredient is onion soup powder. it was a good meat and cheese sandwich on a poppy seed kaiser. more tender then a nicks old fashioned roast beef, tbh, but heavily doctored and was good.
