do you really think she's not keeping score on who's bringing more to the table in the relationship, and if the odds ever tip out of her favor she'll be gone like a bat out of hell
Why is the woman the bad guy in both scenarios? Maybe you're just from an older generation, but this is not my lived experience nor that of my friends who are married.

Not good or bad, just human nature. In an ideal world of perfect equals things may work out fine but in the real world things seldom do, it would seem. Just look at the real world statistics. Sooner or later one party finds themselves feeling aggrieved for one reason or another. You say "in your lived experience" but here you are on this site trolling for trim like the rest us. Would your significant other be okay with that or would she more likely feel aggrieved about it? I'm guessing it would be the later so I rest my case. Sorry bout hijacking the thread! :cautious:

That's interesting - since I've heard that half the marriages end in divorce and the other half more or less have resigned themselves to lives of queit desperation. But assuming what you say may be true for a small percentage, do you really think she's not keeping score on who's bringing more to the table in the relationship, and if the odds ever tip out of her favor she'll be gone like a bat out of hell? Transactional always, I'd say.
People should quote your summary above in the bible. Bloody FACTs
