Just curious, why do you thing girls are being smuggled over here? There has never been any evidence of that. The only people that rant on about smuggled women are anti prostitution zealots.

I agree that it might be a good idea to lay low for awhile. I most likely won't go to strip clubs for a while. This virus is just as communicable as a cold or the flu but 20 times deadlier than the flu. But possible smuggled women ain't the problem.
Well Plat 122, there is evidence that girls are brought over here by the agencies with promises of making big money and at great expense. I've talked to many who came over here thinking they were going to make big bucks in the restaurant or nail salon business. Then after struggling for a while, some "friend" tells them about the massage parlor business, and then they start off naively busting their asses doing massages until some "friend" tells them how they can make alot more money. And then since the Asian culture is such that there is a disconnect between emotion and physical expressions, unlike our culture, they graduate and start to make big money. And then they are hooked, and, seriously, to them it is JUST A JOB !!! Hard for us to understand, but that is the truth. So you are right, they are not "smuggled", they come here bright eyed and bushy tailed, and eventually out of economic necessity, make big bucks as a "restaurant worker" or "nail salon technician", or massage "therapist" and hope to snag a rich old white guy for the PRC and then chain migration. They live in a cocoon with all the services providers by their handlers. That is reality !!!

I could be mistaken, but the way I understand it, there are women that come to this country and have a debt that they have to pay off and they're smuggled in. They don't come in on a work visa or any legal way.

It is the same as people that come up from Mexico. There are people that actually smuggle them into the country.

I know a few women and men who have been smuggled in through Mexico. One girl married a friend of mine. She worked in a normal cafe/bar and, as far as I know, she had nothing to do with the sex industry. Trust me when I say I know a lot of illegals. Most of them work hard, support their families back home and are really great people. Also I love Go-Go bars and every now and then I hear that a dance has to pay off a coyote. I have never seen this in the AMP world. I will admit that I was never looking for it though. What I see is when they raid an AMP is the first thing they do is take all of the cash on hand. Then they will then freeze the bank accounts of the AMP workers. I have never read about someone who entered the country illegally being nabbed in a raid. I have heard about people overstaying their visas and getting caught up in prostitution sting. I will admit they were all Brazilian.

A man or woman will pay up to $30K to marry someone for papers. If they entered the country legally and overstayed their visa it shouldn't be a big problem once you get past the initial round of interviews. My friend, the fool, who I grew up with spend tons on money on lawyers because she entered through mexico and not a port of entry. They had to go back to Brazil so that she could get a green card. She told me she was scared that she wouldn't be able to come back is something went wrong. So what you say is real but I doubt it so much for the AMP world. My buddy is a fool because he is a late fifties guy how married and early thirties woman who normally wouldn't give him a second look.

This happens frequently in the AMP world. An acquaintance of mine, 73 year old, married a 37 year old Chinese woman. I was offered $50k for a "fake marriage" by an AMP provider who wants the PRC and to bring her children over here. NFW !!!

Everybody should decide for himself. But media has blown out of proportion the previous sicknesses, too. The worst part is that if something really aggressive and deadly to all without exception (much like Black Plague was in its time) happens I suspect that we will be kept in the dark to avoid panicking.
Every time they tell you something out of every kettle here and there it raises my skepticism. I simply don’t trust the government blindly.
But, to each - his own.

And yet, a regular flu killed 10 K up to date in US alone. Nothing is better. Keeping a good hygiene as a main rule in life helps in prevention of most if not all illnesses. Thankfully, it’s not that hard in this case.

Well I am always concerned with what the government does not tell us.

Some things may be blown out of proportion but when the entire government puts travel on lockdown and puts the CDC in full force it could be that there's something more than we know about.

And part of the problem also could be that the CDC does not completely understand this virus and how it actually will affect people. They only have the evidence from the existing cases to study, but they may find there are other effects they're not aware of. There is very little that the Chinese government tells us that we can believe.

This was an animal virus that was passed to humans most likely from the Chinese eating bats.

This is an entirely different and never seen before virus for humans.

That is why it spreads so rapidly and our bodies have a harder time fighting it off.

Hobbying will only spread this faster and make it impossible to contain.

Pig and bird flu were from same family just a different strain. I am not saying not to be cautious but it is not a plague. If it mutates into something, then yes.

There is a quote attributed to George Washington that I never forgot. This is off the top of my head so I may be off a little bit. "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearsome master." I have to ask myself if they really appreciate or give a damn about the guy in the trenches, like me. I find that hard to believe. I would be more likely to trust a provider saying "only do for you". The best we can hope for is enlightened self interest on their part. They don't want themselves or their families to get sick so they are being sincere. Then I think of Katrina and how they locked down parts of New Orleans. The first thing they did was to go door to door and confiscate weapons. A potential epidemic would be a great opportunity for them to extend their control. As Kittylover said, trust is the pivotal point. I'm still scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for some.

The chinese do not eat bats. Wild animals eat bats, are hunted and brought to the markets for the mongers to sell. The wild animal market is notorious in china.

Some chinese, particularly southerners do consume bats, but it's a delicacy and not very common. However bat eating much more prevalent in Italy, Guam, Indonesian, Malaysia, and Thailand. You couldn't get me near a bat but I hate steak too, lol.

This is off subject but the Ebola virus was linked to people eating bats. That was genetically confirmed. They used to believe that it was related to hunting and eating chimps but Ebola comes from bats.
