I need to vent about women

He's not trolling (at least not in this thread), and he does make some good points, whether you agree or disagree.

That said, @Redrain, please don't resort to name calling or otherwise make assumptions about others, and keep it civil. It IS possible to present an opinion in a non-attacking way, as well as agreeing to disagree. Thanks.
You're absolutely right. I tend to write the way I speak but speaking allows us to soften our words through tone.

You're right that read, my words definitely sound meaner and more demeaning than I intend them to be.

I"ll definitely tone things down.

But I do want to bring up a point.

Why is it that a poster can pretty much say anything and assume anything about a group of people without coming off as overly hostile, but they can't say those same things about a specific other poster?

I've definitely said some things and made some assumptions about the people I disagree with that offended them. But are the things I've said about any poster any worse then some of the things some posters have said and assumed about women and the men who disagree with them?

Honestly, if I described any individual poster the same way they describe women as a group and feminists in particular I would understand completely if I was banned for life.

They call the women they don't like everything from delusional to secretly miserable.

They call the men who don't agree with them simps and idiots.

My mother and sisters are women. I, my father and brothers are all men who don't agree with them.

Yet there is something worse and more personally insulting about me saying they clearly don't like women and have given up without trying than their describing women as deluded fools and the men who don't agree with them, including me, as simps?

I mean I didn't say word one when these guys called me a simp, secretly a woman and decided that it was impossible that more than one person could disagree with them so I must be the same guy on multiple accounts.

But the second I said that they didn't seem like they liked women very much and were jusr coming up with excuses not to try, that was hitting below the belt?

I hate to say it, but I think the problem is that a lot of the guys who blame women and society for their hangups with women are just too damn sensitive!

Seriously, all I said was that they don't seem to like women very much, just making excuses and probably not contributing that much to society.

Were the assumptions I made about you really all that worse than you calling me a simp, gaslighter, secretly a woman, and/or just one guy with a bunch of different accounts?

Please stop complaining and write shorter posts because they’re too long. Have a good night.

You are making a few errors.

Men built this world. Men could survive here without women. Women could not survive without men. Bridge goes into the water in Baltimore. Who fixes it? Men. Could women? No. Women are only “strong and enpowered” off the backs of men. The second our society goes to shit; women would not survive without men. Period.

apparently you are unfamiliar with the matrilineal Mosuo, or several others, where men are live a duo-local existence. It seems many here live that same way.

No one here is saying women should be “enslaved” or that they are the problem.

sure some are

But society has produced a shitty dating and relationship culture and modern women are fucked up and Undatable because of it.
oh Porter. Thanks for straightening that out and sharing ideas straight out of the faint thinking of the meniinism / masculinism movement. Freud would love this thread.

summary: “Women are fucked up, I am a weakling, why don’t they like me.“

Nothing I said is false. It’s factually true that it’s mostly men in dangerous jobs building things abd it’s mostly men dying doing those jobs. Go look at who is repairing you roads, bridges, who is building your cars, who shows up when a building is on fire, driving trucks transporting goods. Men, men, men. This country would grind to a halt without men. Women only want equality that benefits them. They want none of the above. Women only feel strong and empowered by climbing the backs of men. Taylor Swift sings on a stage built by a man, in a stadium built by men.

There was no need to resort to personal attacks!

first, you are absolutely right, there is no need here for personal attacks, which is why nothing i said equals a personal attack. I commented on your ideas, not you. you should not play the ‘personal attack’ card to try to gain a point, and you should keep your emotions out of this.

men built everything. If it were true, why does it matter? Is that why you can’t get a date?

second, your ideas are wrong about women, where did you get them? Jordan Peterson? Ben Shapiro?

Let’s see….They can't build bridges. Wrong.

have you forgotten about matrilineal societies…Mouso People being one… where men live a duolocal life? Much like many men here?

so what do you want And what do you have to offer?

I'd be interested to see what the breakdown of "women in construction" is. That is, what construction jobs are they actually doing? Are they operating heavy machinery? Pouring concrete? Roofers? Carpenters? Plumbers? Electricians? While there are some women in each of these categories, the vast majority are men (likely 95% or more).

My money says they are mostly in the back office doing clerical or scheduling work. Maybe a few are architects or civil engineers. When I drive past a construction site, it seems that the women are mostly relegated to directing traffic. The devil is always in the details.

So if the men disappeared tomorrow, very little would get built. And it would get built very, very slowly. Especially as the supply chain would be in tatters too.

The exception to the rule doesn’t invalidate the rule. If 1 out of 50 people are women in construction: that’s not a valid argument to refute the claim that men built this country.

You called me a “weakling”

I’m just going to say: it’s weird how you trash guys for not being able to get dates considering the board you are on. It’s like the equivalent of being 400lbs and telling everyone “its easy to be thin”

The devil is always in the details.
Kind of like when Adams says "crime is down in NYC".
He fails to say that is because they no longer arrest a large portion of criminals, like shoplifters, looters, flashmob smash & grab thieves, etc..
Not to mention the "broken windows" crimes like fare evasion, drinking/smoking pot in public, public urination, etc..
And also, now that people know that the DA won't even prosecute, people are reporting less crime.
So yeah...devil is in the details for sure.

And to stay on topic, yes, every female I ever saw on a road crew was waving the flag at cars...

I was at a strip club the other night. The dancers kept talking about constructions and bridges, it was annoying.
Your post triggered a memory.

A lot of you may be too young to remember it, but the movie "Flashdance" was a huge hit in the early 1980s (trailer below). It was about the struggles of a young girl who works as welder in a steel foundry and dreams of becoming a ballet dancer. Over the course of the movie, she tries to get into ballet school and is finally accepted in the finale. She also preps by working nights as a dancer in a strip club (though, she never really strips). Oh, and spoiler alert: she is also banging the owner of foundry where she works. Aside from the fact that it's a totally BS Cinderella story, it's not all bad. Good music and the lead was very hot.

It is easy enough to find stats on this, and you are absolutely correct about the majority of the jobs they fill, once filled by men. Are the men who filled these roles weak, or just the women, every one of these roles is required to build something. A male architect or female, does it matter? Is Zaha Hadid‘s career not valid?

about 9% of heavy equipment workers are female. Is that scary, what is the problem?

back to the question. What is the real being pushed here? Men are better because they climb steel girders? Smarter? Superior? Men and women diverge in career preferences, help me understand what the point is?

i guess since men do most of the building, if they disappear nothing gets built. And along that logic, since women do most of the cooking, if women disappeared men would starve.

i really don’t understand the blame game on women, all this animus. sure todays women are different, so are today’s men.

As far back as junior high, every single hard job that is required, the first thing females do is look around for males to do it. It started with them flirting to get help with homework as soon as they started growing tits.
this statement of ‘every’ is not credible. i went to a vo-tech trade school as an alternative to high school in the 60’s and 70’s. A number of the trades had women in the class. And a number of the cosmetology classes had men in them.
