Lucky you, wish you had these reviews out when I was in Japan. Clearly I didn't do enough research. That fault lies with me because I'm usually better at those things. I did the Kabukicho thing with the touts. Brought to a sus place like you described. Its possible it was the same place. Three different people brought me to the same location. I finally got an attractive Filipino woman after the tout I was with was able to get me a decent deal. Took her to a local love hotel spot because I wasn't about to fuck on a dirty futon behind a curtain. Another guy got me a half thai woman who didn't look like her photos. I also paid the Gaijin price on that one. I had a tout drag me to other spots but the women weren't Japanese, and/or attractive, and I wasn't horny. Finally I came across a Soapland in Akasaka that accepted foreigners. Paid somewhere around 25K Yen, had a good time but no where as close as you. Only one pop but we got along. I also got a super discount in Osaka from a tout. They would have people in Dotonburi standing around soliciting people, usually old women and men. At dawn I tossed out a lowball offer and they accepted. Said, fuck it and did the deed. It was a woman I'd never choose but I paid about $50. I'd like to go back to Japan and do things better but not sure if that's in my near future. I had my fun and want to see other places. The Philippines have been on my list for a while now.

If you do decide on returning to Tokyo, an alternative approach that might yield higher quality purely Japanese gals is to DM them your proposal directly via Twitter/X. Many working gals have an SNS presence and are receptive to freelancing opportunities, including JAV stars like Sumire Mizukawa, and popular hostesses (depending on your cost sensitivity).

And surprisingly, there aren’t the stringent screening practices that exist here with respect to independent providers.

I was actually hoping to link up with a J-girl I had out here who's contact info I had. One of my goals out there was to visit a love hotel and I wanted to do it with her. Unfortunately she was back in NYC for a 3rd tour while I was in Japan. While I was out there I really clicked with a hostess at a titty bar I'd saw multiple times. I probably should've shot my shot with her. Felt it was inappropriate to try to get her contact info. I'm kicking myself over that decision.

this sounds like one of the lower class soaplands. the ones with gravure models and JAV stars typically start at around 80k JPY before gaijin tax. any place that waves you down while you are walking around yoshiwara is definitely a spot with subpar girls.

protip: only amateurs/gaijin walk into yoshiwara from the subway. typically if you book a reservation the store will send a car (a toyota alphard or something similar) to pick you up. most locals don't want to be seen wandering around/entering that area.

the sequence of service described above is pretty accurate for most soaps:
- shower > bed play > shower/chair play > bath > mat play > shower

i would 100% NOT recommend walking around kabukicho as OP did and following a tout into a random building. it is not atypical for gaijin to get mugged/drugged in such situations, especially by the nigerian touts that hang out in that neighborhood at night.
