So many users in the Queens area were shocked and awed to see the Mayor of New York walking through a Roosevelt Avenue spa and physically putting the orange sticker on the front door. That would give you the impression that they did months of surveillance and identified every single spot along the route and went in, on the same day, and shut down these two dozen or so conspicuous hot spots from 103rd on down to 65th. Not even close.
The bust happened Thursday evening. I drove down Roosie Saturday night and there were still PLENTY of providers open for business. What they did was shut down the most egregious and visible places at the nexus of 95th and Roosevelt. But the girls closer to Junction Blvd. were out in force (in larger numbers than usual, actually).
Same with the usual places on down to 74th street. I only counted one other establishment closed on 90th street. Again, the most obvious and visible one that usually featured five or six providers hanging out at once. The places that are a little more discreet are still in operation...for now.
With that said, I would completely avoid the area as that stretch of road has now become internationally famous. A friend of mine sent me a story about Roosevelt Island AMPs from a British newspaper outlet likening it to red light districts in Southeast Asia. I'm going back to regular AMPs that don't advertise so visibly...at least for the forseeable future.
