One of the more entertaining things about the heightened scrutiny that the AMPs are getting is the increased number of stories about providers. I recently read this article and it used a term that I'd always seen and known: Captain Save-A-Ho.

A guy who falls in love with sex workers and attempts to, or even succeeds in, 'rescuing' them from that lifestyle by dating or marrying them. Have you ever known a guy who has attempted this? Back in the days of SH, I remember reading postings about guys bringing these women flowers and candy, bringing them lunch and asking them out on dates. One guy even mongered in his Sunday Best suit to really impress them.

I'll reserve snide judgment but have you ever see this happen in the wild?

I used to be when I started many moons ago. Come to realize how lazy these girls are. They make enough money to get themselves an education here and get out of the business on their own. Similar to those Americans getting welfare checks who are too lazy to make their own money.

Dude have you been on TNA forum. Straight up NJ section are filled with these people. I'm not gonna call em Men. There's nothing wrong with being nice but bringing a pro flowers and candy every encounter like wtf.

Or just attacking other hobbyists to defend the honor of a pro who sleeps around wtf. The NJ section is sadder than any section I've seen for this reason.

Paperpusher on SH couldn't have said that any better.

If a guy or guys are attempting to “rescue” a provider with the intent of marrying her, I don’t see any issue with the gifts, he’s basically courting her, she accepts his gifts and eventually they come to a mutual agreement to become life partners. I guess the emphasis of her being a sex worker prohibits her in some people’s minds that she is not worth marrying. Is a guy that pays a provider worthy of marriage? No judgement on my part, just my two cents. Or as one guy said to me years ago “I met an incredible woman, she just happened to work in a massage parlor when we met, we dated for several months, she’s my wife now.” I never would have guessed she was a former provider had he not mentioned it to me.

Never ever Marry a pro. That should be in the hobbyists handbook.

Even if she swore to the guy she 'loved' she would give up the hobby it's probably a lie and wouldn't do it. Probably would tell you she is now working at a restaurant or a nail spa when in reality she probably gets in her car and drives to a FS spa to work, while you think she is filing nails all day. And unless you follow her everyday there's no way to know. There's no fucking way one could ever trust a FS AMP girl enough to have a serious relationship with them. Unless you're alone and miserable, in your 70's---she's 40, you have no self-respect and just don't give a fuck at that point in life.

You have a point, there in certain instances may be limited counterpoints and ways to know but maybe some have an open marriage,so many variables that change over time !! (RELATIONSHIP CYCLES)

Never thought of myself as a "captain". I just happened to be at a bad place in my current marriage. I was in the adult industry before I even knew about Amps, so the line of business was not a non-starter for me. I was around working girls a lot in my previous job, and never felt the need to rescue them from anything. But yes, I'm a real live example of a guy who married a girl (over 10 years ago) out of an Amp....

I had a long relationship with a provider and she left the business, legitimately and to this day, to make it happen. Got a degree, necessary certifications, and developed a career as well as a business in that span of time. The relationship didn't pan out for other reasons, but we are still good friends and speak regularly. Now, it wasn't about me making an attempt to change her lifestyle and situation. We just had chemistry and it worked out that way.

Reality is, this hobby is a better business crash course then a college degree. Now, for many of them, it is in fact a business transaction and it ends there, but I wouldn't compare them to the people living off of social services and pretend this isn't a difficult job to perform. ALSO, I'd bet many of these women exceed most expectations of a traditional wife in their personal lives.
But hey, if a woman with a history of sex work could never be capable of offering a fulfilling relationship to a partner outside of this hobby, then it's probably safe to say the majority of the clientele are also not really worthy of having a fulfilling relationship at home when they participate as well, right?

It really comes down to the relationship one seeks! Women like men desire attention! This is obvious by the very existance of this board.
