Taiwan. Best place to be right now. You can still count on two hands the number of people that have died from COVID. Only problem is the dollar is dropping vis a vis the NT dollar. $900 US$ used to get you $30,000.00 NT. Now is like $1,012 US$ to get $30,000.00 NT.

Imagine Flushing in Taipei but 10X better and the selection of girls is amazing. Also, the girls will fight over you if you're Caucasian. They want time with a guy to improve their English language skills.

If you can speak Manadrin and read traditional zi Tiawan if way better than Mainland China. Mainland China hates Americans, Tiawan loves Americans.

I’m going correct this statement because I don’t want guys going there with the wrong expectations. Taiwanese culture is very conservative. As western as they seem, they’re not that modern culturally.

Being white or Caucasian isn’t uncommon so you don’t get the same amount of exotic points like you did 20 years ago. What you do get is points for a green card lol. You’re a ticket for a passport and US dollars. if you’re not offering those benefits then expect them to not be interested.

The country itself is a great blend for anyone that wants a mix of asian and western. But you will need to learn mandarin. English is not commonly spoken or understood.

The cost of living is very good. Food is very cheap and rent is cheap compared to NYC or a major metro. But it’s going to cost 1k or more for a good place in Taipei. Buying stuff that’s local is cheap. Anything imported is more expensive than buying it in the states.

I have met many people who have moved to mongering destinations such as Thailand and the Dominican Republic and many of them have told me that they got tired of life over there. Many became homesick. There’s also the cultural and language barrier to overcome.

I recommend just visiting such countries for a week or two and enjoy your time there and then come back home to America.

When it comes to the overall best quality of life, hands down it’s America. Why do you think hundreds of Koreans line up at the US Embassy everyday? lol.
I agree with this statement. Most Americans are not looking to leave the country. They’re looking to take advantage of their currency and passport status.

I just want to leave the US and I really will not miss it at all. It’s a great place to make money. A terrible place to live IMO. I’ve lived overseas for many years and I prefer it. I speak multiple languages and I’m still learning another at a lazy pace. If you’re not willing to learn a new language then you’re probably not really interested in living overseas. Unlike a lot of the immigrants that come here for work. We are going there to live and enjoy. Being unable to communicate usually makes you feel like the village idiot pretty quick.

I used to think moving oversees to a monger destination in retirement was a solid idea but I agree with the post above. I think one needs to really analyze "why" they are moving to a mongering destination and the impact that will have their lifestyle, family relationships, etc. Additionally, on the whole the quality of mongering in the USA is well below many international destinations but there are still some US cities that have good options. They are almost always significantly more expensive than international destinations (Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, etc.) but they may or may not be a big deal depending on one's financial circumstances.

Thanks

That's a good point. There's Canada too, but then again it's pretty similar so the US so not really a "destination" like Thailand or Panama.....

It's been a number of years, but I'm a huge fan on Costa Rica. There's a great board to join for good info, day to day updates, trips, hotels, etc. I found the local people very welcoming, fantastic food, not overly expensive, beautiful beaches and hiking areas. English wasn't always avail and I don't speak Spanish, but was able travel around, find good places to monger, etc. Seems to be a good number of Americans that spend 5-6 months with local girlfriends in the country, and the rest back in the US.

Great conversation! I think picking a spot solely on it's mongering options is probably a recipe for failure. Bangkok has been my choice because I really do like the Thai culture and people yet have enough west to stave off homesickness. I am definitely going to do the "Thai for Gringos" thing but even so, English is prevalent enough to get by easily, especially in ex-pat locations. The icing on the cake is, of course, throwing a rock and hitting 3 SWers.

I don't really plan on spending the rest of my life outside of the US, just a good chunk of the 55-65 years, where you'd be ass-raped on medical insurance as a retiree. Bounce around the planet while based somewhere inexpensive and fun before I get too old seems like a nice way to kick off the last leg of the journey...

Right now you can not fly into or out off Australia. However once it is open for travel, brothels, spas ,etc are legal but expensive. A lot of Aussies used to fly to Thailand for the weekend before the pandemic
Can you define "expensive"? Is it generally over $4.0/hr for pretty girls 18-29?
BTW, I tried to send you an IM to ask this question, but could not due to your account settings...

Latinas:
Costa Rica - Its glory days are over. Although the women can still be had, San Jose is a crime ridden shithole, the Del Rey is crumbling, and a lot of the other places have closed down. Jaco is on the water but not much going on there. Tamarindo is a nice beach town, so I’d only recommend CR if you like surfing and want to wife up one local to feed and F you consistently. Things could be worse, but it’ll be a slow daily life.

Colombia - Much more attractive women than CR, but the downside is that English is much less prevalent. You’ll have a hard time daily if you don’t speak at least high school level English. Medellin is a fun city to check out, and Cartagena is a great beach town. Worth a visit, but much more enjoyable if you can convince a buddy that knows Spanish and will have your back during the trip.

Dominican - Sousa was party central for years, but I believe the town is starting to crack down on the blatant prostitution that was happening. It’s a dirt road down with meager accommodations, but the beach is great, diving is ok, and women are only there for one reason so they’re eager to please. Women tend to be darker skin that CR and Colombia, and it’s closer to the east coast so there will be dozens of guys from NY and Miami there partying at any given time, don’t need any Spanish at all.

Asians:
China - Avoid like the plague.

Korea - Lot of fun to be had in Korea, but my opinion is if you want hit Korean women you can just go to midtown. Expensive place, and I’d be overwhelmed living there.

Thailand - Beautiful country. Bangkok is a good first stop, but worth settling down somewhere more enjoyable. Pattaya is the most famous mongering town so I’d avoid that too. Plenty of awesome beach towns and islands to choose from, and plenty of girls. Great cost of living, and enough expats to keep you sane. I have heard great things about Vietnam being cheaper and the “new” Thailand but haven’t been personally.

Europe:
Germany - Everyone is aware of their legendary FKK clubs which are like day spas mixed with brothels. Sure that’s great, but Germany isn’t know for warmth in climate or personality. Very expensive, no better bang for your buck than the US. Most of the girls in those places will be Russian, Ukrainian, or Czech. Follow the trail to one of those places to get to the source.

Just my personal opinions. I suggest you enjoy your new retirement privileges and take 1 month long stays in multiple places to feel them out and come to your own conclusions. Just don’t fall in love until you see them all.

What is everyones thoughts on central america for retirement?
Costa rica? Nicaragua?
(A lot of surfing in those parts due to great beaches.)
It was a retirement Hotspot going back to the 90s. Some of the real estate is still affordable but I doubt anyone would want to live in the affordable parts unless you're originally from their or extremely comfortable with the risk. For real-estate it can be just as expensive as the US and even more so in some nice regions or those far from risky cities and rural areas. If you want to go to the same place US expats go to then expect US real-estate prices. US and European goods still cost US and Euro prices. Other then that cost of living can be low if you're smart about it and not trying to live it up.

Very true. Take a year and look around. Use Airbnb. Hit up 3-4 countries, stay 2 months in each. Then go back to the one you like most.
